Could it be that the evil spirit was the "Red Angel" Medici, the Angel King who once served the "Creator" and one of the founders of the "Redeeming Rose"? Klein immediately made that association and worked backwards to find traces and clues:
"The previous owner of the 'Red Priest' card, drawn by some degree of attraction, came to that underground palace and died beside the descendants of Tudor;
"The evil spirit I saw in my dream could easily kill a powerful dragon while alive;
"It knows the potion formula for Sequence 4 'Puppet' of the 'Aberrant' pathway, and even more;
"It knows the matters of the 'Redeeming Rose' very well;
"None of the orthodox churches that have existed in this world since the Great Cataclysm knew that the former Binshi, now Banshi, is inhabited by descendants of the Medici family, yet that evil spirit could give the corresponding hint."
It is very likely that it evolved from the "Red Angel" Medici after his death... And how could an Angel King be killed by the "Blood Emperor" Alista Tudor? Does this mean that the latter had surpassed Sequence 1 and reached the Sequence 0 level of a true god, no longer to be gazed upon...
That evil spirit itself said that in the later part of the Fourth Epoch, the "Black Emperor" of the Solomon Empire, the "Blood Emperor" of the Tudor Empire, and the "Night Emperor" of the Trunsoest Empire were contending for the position of Sequence 0, until Alista Tudor went mad... Does this mean that from that point on, the "Blood Emperor" was a half-mad true god?
By the way, Mr. Azik also mentioned in his letter that he lost consciousness after being glanced at by the "Blood Emperor" Alista Tudor. At that time, he was at least a Sequence 4 demigod. Such might of the "Blood Emperor" can only be explained by being at the level of a true god...
In that same letter, Mr. Azik also described the true "Black Emperor" who had returned from the dead, saying He sat on a huge throne, overlooking the whole land... The "Black Emperor" being able to return to life suggests that He is likely a Sequence 0 true god... If this is true, then the "War of the Four Emperors" was much more high-end than I previously thought, no longer just three Sequence 1s competing for the Sequence 0 position... Klein connected many events before and after, gaining a new understanding of Fourth Epoch history.
But with this, many questions arise:
"If that ancient evil spirit is really the 'Angel King' Medici, then that underground palace likely belongs to the 'Blood Emperor' Alista Tudor. So why are there two thrones side by side? Why are there humanoid statues of the six orthodox gods?
"Why did the half-mad 'Blood Emperor' kill the 'Red Angel' Medici? After He became Sequence 0, which position did He occupy? First, we can rule out the 'Black Emperor'... Could it be the 'Red Priest'? Killing the Angel King Medici for his beyonder characteristics?
"But the 'Red Priest' and the 'Black Emperor' don't seem to be interchangeable similar pathways. I'm almost sure the former is paired with the 'Witch' pathway. Hmm... the captain said that when taking potions from other pathways, the first time won't kill you, but you'll likely go mad and gain distorted, terrifying, eerie powers. This fits the half-mad trait of the 'Blood Emperor'!
"At the last step, because the positions of the 'Black Emperor' and similar pathways were hopeless, he made the craziest choice — at the cost of half-madness, he switched to a completely unrelated pathway?
"But that also has problems. Advancing to 'Red Priest' requires killing the Angel King Medici, but before advancing, Alista Tudor alone couldn't accomplish this, unless... unless there were more Sequence 1s helping Him, or a Sequence 0 true god..."
At this thought, the statues in the underground palace suddenly flashed through Klein's mind:
The statue of the Goddess of Night with the moon as a pillow, the statue of the Mother Earth holding a baby, the statue of the Lord of Storms with lightning on his back, the handsome and youthful statue of the Eternal Sun, the statue of the God of War seated on a throne, and the statue of the God of Knowledge and Wisdom wearing a hood, all casting cold gazes from the dark room.
At that moment, Klein felt a chill.
But he clearly remembered that the six gods supported the Trunsoest Empire, not the Tudor dynasty.
The more I learn about Fourth Epoch history, the more confusing and terrifying it becomes... Klein sighed inwardly.
"What are you thinking?" Azik Eggers noticed his pause.
Klein casually replied:
"I was just thinking, since the 'Red Angel' Medici fell to the 'Blood Emperor' Alista Tudor in the Fourth Epoch, then who was the 'God of Weather' worshipped in Banshi Port over the past few hundred years?
"And what are the anomalies they exhibited derived from?.."
Saying this, Klein abruptly stopped because the situation in Banshi Port was different from what he imagined.
He originally thought that the "Red Angel" Medici was sleeping there, but unexpectedly, he had already fallen long ago.
That being the case, the secrets hidden in the Green Lemon Restaurant and the telegraph office become even harder to guess, and there is no way to deduce the source. The more one thinks about it, the more terrifying it becomes.
"Did that evil spirit's hint about 'Binshi Town' foresee this outcome? Is this itself a step in its escape from the seal? Should I tell Mr. Azik about this and see what he thinks?
"Hmm, first let Miss 'Magician' in Backlund keep an eye on that area to see if there are any anomalies. If not, then after I return to Backlund, contact Miss Sharon, get her opinion, and then inform Mr. Azik. After all, we explored the ruins together, so I should respect her thoughts. If there are anomalies, then I'll have to act based on urgency..." Klein quickly made a decision.
Hearing his question, Azik laughed and said:
"Don't think about these things anymore. They have already been buried by the Church of Storms. Forcing to find the cause will bring great danger. Even reaching the angel level, you might fall."
In the occult world, curiosity is often the main cause of death... Klein thought of various events he had experienced or heard of.
He then changed the subject:
"Mr. Azik, I already have my own messenger."
"Faster than I imagined," Azik said with a smile.
Klein then briefly told how he modified the incantation, how he completed the summoning, and how he encountered bizarre creatures from the spirit world.
"When summoning spirit world creatures, if it's not your corresponding profession, such things do happen. You need to try repeatedly to get the desired result, but in the process of repeated attempts, you may encounter danger. Even if you add descriptions like 'friendly', it's not absolutely safe. The summoned creature may have no ill will towards you and may not intend to harm you, but its very existence might be harmful. Perhaps just its aura can make you rot into blood." After hearing the examples of "Swift One", "Weak Presence", and "Resilient One", Azik smiled and gave a few warnings, finally asking, "How did you finally succeed?"
