Chapter 59: Roselle's Beginning

Upon hearing "The Fool's" question, Audrey did not answer immediately as before, but instead opened her sparkling eyes and cast a scrutinizing glance at "The Hanged Man".

Alger unconsciously restrained his body movements and, after a few seconds of silence, said:

"I found two pages of Emperor Roselle's diary and memorized their contents."

"I have one page." Audrey, whose vision was obscured by the gray fog, replied in a detached tone.

"Very good." Klein did not let his joy or disappointment color his voice.

He was delighted that there were three full pages, but disappointed that there were only three, because the first collection was bound to be relatively easy, an exploitation of one's own resources and channel potential; as it continued, it would become more difficult and involve more factors.

"Should we 'express' them now?" Audrey calmly inquired.

"Yes." Klein nodded briefly.

He maintained his previous posture, almost unchanged; in front of the "Spectator", he had to be cautious.

As his words fell, pieces of yellowish-brown parchment and dark red fountain pens instantly appeared in front of Audrey and Alger.

The two each picked up the writing instruments and began to recall the symbols in their memories, giving them the urgent emotion of expression.

Silently, lines of text appeared on the yellowish parchment, some with dignified strokes, some delicate and flowing, some crooked and irregular.

In less than a minute, all the content that Audrey and Alger had forcibly memorized was transferred onto the parchment.

Klein's mind stirred, and the three pages of parchment flashed into his hand.

Glancing over, he scanned the diary and found that the language order was reversed, and there were missing and wrong characters.

However, experiments had proven that a certain degree of disorder did not affect reading Chinese, and having been tortured by asterisks for a long time, he was not at all afraid of missing or wrong words:

"April 8, I stood on the prow of the 'Black Throne' and spread my arms, saying to Green and Edwards: 'Do you want my treasure? Then come and find it at the end of the Misty Sea! I've hidden all the treasure here!' They completely didn't understand my humor and even asked if I really had extra treasure. How dull! At this rate, you can't be my Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse!"

"April 11, discovered an unnamed island not on the safe route. There were many supernatural species on it. No, I prefer to call them super-species, which sounds more pretentious. Besides them, there were many strange creatures on the island. I think if Darwin were transported here, he definitely couldn't write the Theory of Evolution again."

"April 15, Green has become a bit strange. Was he infected by something?"

When did Emperor Roselle, born in the Kingdom of Intis, ever set sail? The Misty Sea should be the ocean to the west of the Republic of Intis... Well, I need to go to the library to find some historical records for comparison... Klein quickly finished reading one page and turned his attention to the next.

At this point, he no longer concealed the fact that he understood Emperor Roselle's secret symbols, because this was in line with the identity of The Fool. Audrey and Alger did not speak, but sat there quietly waiting, as if they were not at all surprised by this outcome and even thought that it was exactly right.

"October 2, they actually decided to engage me to Matilda of the Abel family without consulting me! God, I haven't even met her! No, I have to refuse! Even if I have to run away from home, even if I have to become self-reliant and suffer oppression, I will resist this arranged marriage!"

"October 5, Miss Matilda is really beautiful."

"October 6, her personality and temperament are exactly the type I like. I'm starting to look forward to our marriage."

Hey, Emperor, what about your moral integrity? ... Klein leaned back against the high-backed chair, not letting his emotions penetrate the gray fog.

He noticed that the early Roselle did not write in his diary every day; generally, he only wrote when something happened that needed venting, recording, or emotional expression.

Lowering his gaze, Klein looked at the last entry on this page:

"October 9, they actually called me the Son of Steam. I really like it."

Seeing that the content of the previous two pages was of little value for the time being, Klein couldn't help but feel a slight disappointment.

But he did not get discouraged; he moved the third page to the top. This page had content on both sides:

"May 21, the Church of the God of Craftsmen gave me two choices, the starting points of two Sequence pathways: one is the 'Savant', which belongs to the complete Sequence chain they themselves possess, and the other is the 'Mystery Pryer', which comes from the Moss Ascetic Order and lacks higher sequences."

"May 22, my choice is simple: 'Savant'! The 'Savant' with a complete Sequence! Although mastering more occult knowledge helps me find a way home, the problem is that when one is not strong enough, something like transmigration necessarily relies on external forces, and whether those forces are good or evil, benevolent or malicious, cannot be controlled and is very dangerous. That being the case, it's better to make oneself strong and rely on one's own strength to go back. Therefore, a complete Sequence is my primary consideration!"

"May 23, I became a 'Savant'. Relying on the power of the potion, I was actually able to fully recall the knowledge I had learned before: physics, chemistry, etc., etc."

"Not only did I recall them, but I also deeply understood and mastered them. Haha, this is simply a 'profession' tailor-made for me, this stranger from another world. It can maximize my advantages! I have to say, if I went back in this state to my senior year, I would definitely become the top scholar. If I had more systematic and deeper specialized study, becoming a scientist wouldn't be too difficult a goal."

"May 26, I really enjoy the identity of 'Savant'. A strange thing: when I think of myself as a 'Savant' and act in accordance with its position, the whispers that nearly drove me crazy quiet down a lot, my occasional outbursts of temper are controlled, and I remembered this diary thing."
