Chapter 576: The Golden Dream

August 2, 2019 · 5 min read · 1,079 words

When Klein saw the huge black-sailed ship, his first reaction was fear and caution. He suspected that the King of the Five Seas, the demigod Nast, had come for him.

But he quickly dismissed this guess, because aside from using the Black Emperor card in the Spirit World, he had hardly let that blasphemy card appear in the real world since going to sea. The only two or three times were when it was summoned and swiftly returned to the Spirit World.

With the shielding capabilities of the gray fog and the anti-divination and anti-prophecy properties of the blasphemy card, it was impossible and should be impossible for the King of the Five Seas, Nast, to lock onto me! Klein calmed down, stood up, walked to the window, and gazed at the Black Emperor, a ship that defied common sense for sailing vessels, together with Danitz.

The huge ship slowly approached amidst the large shadows. The scene on the deck gradually became clear. The sailors were either washing the deck or leaning against the ship's rail to boast. They did not draw their swords or guns, showing no signs of looting.

Near the cabins sat a mottled stone chair two to three meters tall, upon which sat a giant-like man.

Before he could clearly see the appearance of the King of the Five Seas, Nast, Danitz couldn't help lowering his head, his body stiff and trembling, wanting to prostrate himself.

Klein also felt that indescribable sense of authority and intimidation.

He didn't forcibly endure it, nor did he stubbornly raise his head to continue staring at the King of the Five Seas, Nast. Doing so would most likely attract the other party's attention, bringing unnecessary trouble.

As someone who harbored many secrets, he had to bow his head when it was time to bow!

He didn't know how long passed before he saw the sunlight shine in again and the shadows disappear.

He raised his head. In his field of vision, the huge dark sailing ship was gone. The wind was gentle, the waves were calm, the sky was high, and the sea was wide.

«Why did he suddenly come here? Wasn't it said that he was still in the Misty Sea a while ago?» Danitz furrowed his brows and muttered in confusion.

The Black Emperor can sail in the Spirit World, so it's normal for it to arrive from the Misty Sea in just a few days... This might be one of the reasons Nast is the head of the Four Kings... Klein muttered to himself.

He believed that the King of the Five Seas, Nast, was attracted by the Black Emperor card, but it was very likely that the other party could only determine a vague range.

Klein withdrew his gaze and sat back down, as if nothing had happened.

The straight-line distance from Basiem to Drisani wasn't actually long, but the safe routes were winding and circuitous. The passenger ship didn't enter the harbor until dusk.

Then, Klein changed his appearance and used a false identity to buy two of the most recent tickets, set off again before dark, and arrived at Port Grakess in the hazy light of dawn.

Danitz didn't enter the city. He brought Klein around to a private port, and they boarded a simple fishing boat, heading for the outer sea.

Nearly two hours later, a sailboat dozens of meters long, clean and tidy, reflecting a golden color in the sunlight, appeared in Klein's sight.

Compared to similar vessels, it was extremely peculiar. Arranged along the central axis was a main cannon. On the cannon's barrel were overlapping symbols and patterns, flowing with a faint but pure light.

«That’s a Purification Cannon. It can only be used ten times, and then six Priests of Light need to hold a ceremony to pray to the deity to replenish its spirituality.» Danitz introduced with a smug tone.

A massively scaled-up charm? After a certain amount of time, there should be an automatic loss of spirituality... The power behind the Ice-Cap Admiral is the Church of the Eternal Sun? Or a faction that can train Priests of Light? Klein showed no change in expression, but he was muttering inwardly.

When he first saw the Golden Dream in Danitz's dream, he hadn't been surprised by the main cannon. After all, dreams don't need to conform to common sense. Perhaps Danitz had seen ironclad ships and was deeply impressed by the main cannons, which then manifested in his dream.

What Klein hadn't expected was that the Golden Dream really possessed such an item with extremely high mystical knowledge, something ordinary forces could never get their hands on.

Soon, the Golden Dream lowered a small boat, which quickly approached the fishing boat.

Danitz opened and clenched his fingers, then suddenly jumped down, landing steadily on the small boat without causing much disturbance.

He whistled, high-fived the pirate steering the boat, and felt the feeling of dominating the vast ocean again.

However, his excitement didn't last long. His back suddenly sank as another person appeared.

...Forgot about this lunatic... Danitz put away his smile and sat down.

Klein looked over the pirates, pressed his hat down, and sat down calmly without saying anything.

Before long, he stepped onto the deck of the Golden Dream and saw the Ice-Cap Admiral, , standing quietly by the side rail.

This pirate admiral was almost exactly the same as when they had met in the dream. Her hairstyle and makeup hadn't changed much, but she had swapped her dress for a pair of dark trousers and leather boots, adding a dash of dashing handsomeness to her intellectual beauty.

This time, she really looked more like a pirate than a teacher... Klein nodded slightly and smiled politely: «Good morning, Captain.»

«Good morning, Mr. Gehrman.» Edwina smiled back.

She turned around and walked to a place where fishing nets were drying, signaling for the other pirates to stay away and mind their own business.

Fishing nets... As expected of a pirate crew that's more like a treasure hunter... Is this for improving the meals? Klein silently followed without a word, while Danitz automatically went to find his most familiar companions to drink and boast.

Of course, he didn't let his guard down. He glanced over from time to time, afraid that the captain and Gehrman Sparrow would start a fight, and he was always ready to call his companions over to join the beating.
