Chapter 535: Dream Classroom

January 17, 2020 · 5 min read · 993 words

Danitz's worries did not come true; Klein just looked at him and walked into the bedroom to rest.

During the five hours on the passenger ship, his nerves had been constantly on edge, and last night he was disturbed and didn't sleep well, so he was inevitably a bit tired.

With a bang, Klein closed the bedroom door.

"Phew... That scared me!" Danitz instantly relaxed and collapsed into the armchair.

Just now, images of him turning into gold pounds had flashed through his mind, scene after scene, unstoppable.

After calming down for a while, Danitz, who had messed around in the bar until dawn before returning to the inn, unknowingly fell asleep again. He dreamed that the captain had come to rescue him, but she failed instead and was captured by Germann Sparrow, adding a maid to that crazy adventurer.

Just as Danitz was burning with anger but dared not resist, about to wake up, he suddenly saw the blurry surroundings become clear and freeze in the luxury suite of the "Azure Wind" hotel.

Knock, knock, knock.

Danitz heard a heavy, rhythmic knocking.

"Am I not dreaming?" With this doubt, Danitz walked to the door and turned the handle.

The crack grew wider, and he saw a familiar figure.

She was a beautiful lady with an oval face, a high nose bridge, thin lips, and light blue eyes like clear spring water.

Her brown hair was parted in the middle, tied in a simple yet elegant knot at the back of her head, and then fell smoothly down.

She wore no hat. She had a beige coat fitted at the waist, with a large white lace ornament the size of a palm spreading down from the collar.

Matching the coat was a dark knee-length skirt with pleats that were slightly puffy, and on her feet were boots similar in color to her hair.

"Captain!" Danitz exclaimed.

He came to his senses immediately, quickly turned around, and assumed a defensive posture towards Germann Sparrow's bedroom:

"Careful! Run! There's a madman looking for you! He has a terrifying organization behind him!"

As his sense of sacrifice surged, Danitz heard his captain calmly say:

"It's a dream."

"A dream... Right, I'm dreaming, what's there to be afraid of?" Danitz looked around, lowered his arms, and stepped back, saying:

"Captain, are you simulating the Nightmare abilities? No, you were near Sonia Island last week."

Sonia Island is the largest island in this sea, from which the Sonia Sea gets its name. It is almost equal to a small continent. It was originally the last remaining settlement of the elves after the Cataclysm, but over time, this ancient extraordinary race was plagued by various factors and gradually died out, leaving only occasional, sporadic appearances to prove they hadn't completely vanished.

At the end of the Fourth Epoch, the Rune Kingdom occupied this island, but in the Twenty Years' War, they suffered a crushing defeat and ceded Sonia Island to the Fusac Empire, an event now over seven hundred years past.

Sonia Island lies northwest of the Rorsted Archipelago; the ship journey takes nearly half a month. "Iceberg Admiral" Edwina Edwards, who was near Sonia Island just last week, couldn't possibly arrive in Beyam this week, unless she could fly or travel through the Spirit World.

The beautiful lady Danitz called captain nodded:

"We just entered the Rorsted waters, 1,000 nautical miles from Beyam."

"So there are still three or four days? That's more reasonable..." Danitz said curiously. "This should be beyond the range of Nightmare, right?"

And far beyond, he added silently.

"Iceberg Admiral" Edwina entered the room and walked towards the table:

"It's not Nightmare. It's a secret ritual magic that uses certain items you left on the ship to enter your dream from a distant place..."

Listening to the captain's meticulous explanation, Danitz instantly felt like he was back on the "Golden Dream", starting a lesson.

"I've never heard of this ritual magic before... But then again, the captain knows many strange and rare magics and witchcraft; no one can figure out exactly how much knowledge she has... She seems to have mentioned that her Sequence title is 'Arcane Tutor'... If I had known she had this kind of 'secret art', I wouldn't have been so troubled about how to inform her of the changes in Beyam..." Danitz's thoughts scattered, interrupting Edwina's description:

"Captain, did you notice something wrong with the contact point here?"

"Hmm, this is another secret art..." Edwina seemed inclined to explain the specific method in detail.

Seeing this, Danitz sighed:

"Poor Old Lynn and the others..."

Edwina stopped, turned her back to the window, and asked succinctly:

"What happened?"

"It starts from Damir Port." Danitz perked up, feeling that his long suppression had finally paid off.

He wordily described his attempt to recruit Germann Sparrow, only to find he was a madman, and exaggerated his miserable experiences on the "White Agate".

Following the draft he had prepared last night, he recounted all about the strangeness and horror of Banshi Port, the ambush and siege by "Steel" McVey, the counterattack and hunt with Germann Sparrow, and seriously elaborated his guesses about Germann Sparrow's abilities and background, including "Creeping Hunger" and the hidden powerful organization.

In this process, he tried to stay as close to the truth as possible, only slightly exaggerating his own role, elevating his status from servant and attendant to assistant and partner.

"Iceberg Admiral" Edwina listened quietly, never interrupting his words, and finally nodded slightly:

"He has no ill intent."

"He? Germann Sparrow has no ill intent?" Danitz quickly said. "Captain, regardless, he is a dangerous guy!

"Are you sure he has no ill intent?"

"Not sure." Edwina replied very calmly.

"...But you just?" Danitz took a silent breath, feeling that the captain was similar to Germann Sparrow, both hard to have a proper conversation with.

"Iceberg Admiral" Edwina said with an expressionless face:

"That is my speculation and judgment."
