Chapter 1380: Joining Hands

October 22, 2021 · 5 min read · 993 words

The "curtain" that shrouded the Palace vanished in an instant; a certain inexpressible presence returned to reality, and the whole stellar realm seemed to sway.

Outside the crack-riddled world-barrier, those dreadful faces — which no ordinary word can describe — stirred all at once.

The invisible barrier began to shudder violently, as if it might crumble inch by inch at any moment.

Every continent of the inner planet was struck by earthquakes — not severe, but noticeable.

Over the Five Seas, the waves surged high, as though caught by a sudden tidal pull.

In the noonday sky, the Crimson Moon abruptly stood out, its colour turning extremely thick and bulging out in absurd magnification, as if hanging just above every rooftop. Besides that, the brown star, the orange star, the red star, the gold star, the blue star and others lit up at the same time, each radiating a different texture of light.

Seen from above the stars, the whole earth shook in place, as though caught up in an unseen storm.

This was the slight tremor brought on by the Outer ' attempts to break through the barrier.

The presence emanating from the ancient palace adrift in the stellar realm made Them recall, all at once, that terrible Existence. In their startled state, some enraged, some maddened, all tried to keep the other from being resurrected.

Quicker to react than They, who were blocked outside the real world, was the "" inside Klein's "main body" pocket.

That viscous, pale-golden light suddenly pierced through 's reinforced seal and turned into a blurred, twisted figure.

Stretching out an arm, it drew the "" into its palm.

The rules previously inscribed all vanished; new clauses took shape in an instant: "It is forbidden to resurrect the dead in this place!"

A thin grey-white mist flickered, and ahead of this rule appeared a familiar clause: "The following rules are void!"

Even though He had not yet truly resurrected — had not yet absorbed the "Fool" uniqueness and the two sets of Sequence-9-to-Sequence-1 Seer-pathway extraordinary characteristics — the "Fu Sheng Xuan Huang Tian Zun" within Klein's "main body" could already command the "Origin Fortress" and, drawing on His divine standing, summon power.

At that moment, His existence completed its interaction with the mists of history; piece by piece, the shards of light writhed, now linking into a single whole, now flying apart, unable to fully compose a coherent history.

That history had developed an irreconcilable self-contradiction!

The true history was: , fused with the soul of a prehistoric human, played the part of the "Fool," founded the , grew stronger Sequence by Sequence, and at last drew near to becoming the true "Fool." The history now was: Mr Fool is a great Existence resurfacing — the very "Fu Sheng Xuan Huang Tian Zun" of the ancient ages, awakened at last!

Just then, the rule-binding which the "Genie of the Lamp" had wrought through the "Trunsoest Brass Book" took effect for less than a second — but it was still enough to greatly weaken the will of the "" inside Klein's "main body," as if delivered a fatal blow.

Both the "Earth Mother" and the "" gave up interfering with Amon's clones, as though seeking to free Mr "Error's" hands to deal with the reviving "Lord of Mysteries."

Yet, though They evidently had some spare strength, They made no attempt to act upon Klein's "main body"; They only kept pressing the "Primordial Witch" and the "."

Those two, in turn, ceased to attack and disturb so fiercely — as if waiting for an outcome to take shape.

For Them, the resurrection of the "Lord of Mysteries" would also serve their own ends: to bring forth a "Pillar" in the shortest possible time; and to keep one who hates them from becoming the "Lord of Mysteries."

Furthermore, their own pathways did not belong to the three that the "Lord of Mysteries" governs, and they had no grudge nor conflict of interest with Him.

Freed from interference, the Amons at once changed targets, focussing the vast bulk of their attention on Klein's "main body."

No one had to explain to Them: They clearly understood that here was their greatest threat.

Without hesitation, the Amons raised their right hands together and, with a light squeeze, solemnly "stole" the "Eternal Day" effect from their target.

Yet the Amons did not abandon putting pressure on Klein either. Strong in numbers as They were, They detached a small portion of Themselves and turned their gaze on Klein — who was at present the Sequence-1 "Mystery Pryer," carrying upon him the identity and fate of Antigonus.

Those Amons' monocles flared brightly; using authorities tied to the "Door," they shifted Klein out of the real world and into the starry void.

In the dark, vast cosmos Klein's figure surfaced, then thinned instantly into a paper figurine.

The figurine first swelled its belly and bore a paper infant; in the next instant, it withered and crumbled to dust.

Klein had used "Grafting" and the "Paper Person Stand-in" to ward off the Amons' onslaught.

Meanwhile, the other Amons had succeeded — they stole the "Eternal Day" effect away from Klein's "main body."

But, in the very next second, that "Eternal Day" effect was "stolen" back by the other side.

This was the "Lord of Mysteries's" command over the abilities of His own pathway — even now, when He had not truly resurrected; the process having only just begun.

The eyes of the Amons flickered slightly; then, all at once, they gave up Klein's side and shifted their focus onto three things: Most of them went on "stealing" back the bestowed "Eternal Day" effect, opposing the "Lord of Mysteries"; a smaller share fixed their attention upon Antigonus on the great stone throne and, in no particular order, began to "steal" his "Eternal Sleep" state away.
