Inside the hidden area, “Saint of Secrets” Butis narrowed his eyes slightly upon recognizing “Lehman’s Travel Notes.”
This made him have no doubt about the information provided by “Gloom Saint” Ksema.
— He knew this notebook, knowing it was a magical item highly valued by the Abraham family, one of the most powerful among those below high sequences, with negligible negative effects.
“Hah, when I was at the middle sequence, I desperately wanted this notebook, but the Abrahams were wary of me and didn’t take my needs seriously… Now they’ve learned their lesson? This woman must not be a blood descendant of the Abraham family, otherwise she wouldn’t be searching for cursed items of ancient malicious spirits herself,” Butis muttered to himself, his expression gradually turning serious but with a hint of cruel fanaticism.
After observing the surroundings for a while, he carefully reached his hand into the inner pocket of his black robe.
That inner pocket seemed to contain a vast space; “Saint of Secrets” Butis actually pulled out a three-layered jewelry box from inside.
This jewelry box was not small in size, quite difficult to hold with one hand, itself silver-black in color, with many hollowed-out delicate decorations on the surface, inlaid with rubies, emeralds, sapphires, and diamonds, appearing quite luxurious.
While holding this “jewelry box,” Butis’s expression revealed panic and fear, as if facing the “Abyss” or listening to the whispers of an evil god.
…………
The gathering proceeded as usual; Fors put away “Lehman’s Travel Notes” and concentrated on listening to the speeches of different participants, as if seeking certain answers.
During this process, she occasionally asked questions, offering gold pounds, spiritual materials, etc., as rewards, but didn’t get effective answers.
Gradually, this Beyonder gathering neared its end, and the organizer began to arrange for different participants to leave from different places.
Soon, only Fors and a few other Beyonders remained in the connected room.
After receiving a sign from the organizer, Fors stood up, suppressing the urge to stretch, and walked towards the side door.
Just then, she found her body suddenly stiff, her head barely turning like a wind-up toy.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the grayish-white walls instantly become silver-black, covered in grains, as if forged from metal, while the skin of the remaining participants and the organizer lost its human luster, their eyes vacant, movements mechanical, like large dolls.
In the hidden area, “Saint of Secrets” Butis had, at some point, opened the top layer of the “jewelry box”; inside was a not very exquisite but absolutely true-to-life room scene.
In the room, chairs and tables were placed disorderly, and several palm-sized dolls sat or stood, as if simulating a real situation.
Among these dolls, the one standing was wearing a hooded robe, with a gracefully curved chin and full red lips; it was Fors.
She, along with the remaining Beyonders, the gathering organizer, and the whole room, silently turned into toys and were collected into the top layer of the “jewelry box”!
Meanwhile, in the external connected room, only the grayish-white walls remained, nothing else.
“Saint of Secrets” Butis’s mouth gradually curled up, and with his right hand, he forcefully closed the lid of the “jewelry box.”
In just one breath, he miraculously took control of the target!
This silver-black three-layer “jewelry box” was exactly the “0” level sealed artefact he had taken from the Abraham family.
Because it had never been obtained or deeply studied by any orthodox church, it didn’t have a corresponding number.
According to Butis, this “jewelry box” originated from an angel of the Abraham family during the Fourth Epoch; he loved to travel among the stars and visit different places in the vast universe, but once, when he returned to the family to rest, he died silently in his own palace, with a face full of terror, twisted expression, as if he had seen something extremely frightening.
A true mythological creature, which could be called a minor god in the Second Epoch, fell in such a strangely silent manner without causing any commotion.
The Beyonder characteristic he left behind combined with his remains, forming this “jewelry box” that was quite different from similar sealed artefacts, and the then “Door” Mr.
“Box of the Old Days.”
The first layer of the “Box of the Old Days” can turn a target location into a toy and swap it with the internal space of the box itself; “Saint of Secrets” Butis used exactly this to achieve his goal easily and strangely.
The second layer of the “Box of the Old Days” records different locations; once released, the holder and living beings within the effect range can directly go to the corresponding areas, traveling among the stars and exploring the universe like that Abraham family angel once did.
As for what the third layer of the “Box of the Old Days” contains, “Saint of Secrets” Butis knew but dared not think about it, just as he usually dared not touch this “0” level sealed artefact.
Snap, after the lid of the “Box of the Old Days” closed, Butis grabbed with his right hand and retrieved the mirror inlaid in the transparent vortex in the air.
Once an area is hidden, a “Secret Mage” must leave it through the corresponding “Door” or directly remove the “Hiding.”
Butis chose the latter method, as it was the most convenient and fastest.
