Summoning a messenger... As the "Judgment" of the and a member of the Military Intelligence Department, Xio understood what "messenger" referred to, and she knew that the medium-level members of the Church of the Dead widely used messengers.

Before she could ask for more details, she saw Fors walking toward the ground-floor guest room with unsteady steps and vacant eyes, her voice quite ethereal:

"Let me sleep for a while. Talk about anything later."

When she finally woke, it was early morning the next day, roused from a deep sleep by the pervasive aroma of meat.

"Dessy pie?" Fors rubbed her eyes and walked out of the room, seeing the food already laid out on the table.

"Right," Xio came out of the washroom. "From the street corner shop. Pretty good."

Fors hummed an acknowledgment, sat down at the dining table, quickly picked up a Dessy pie, and stuffed it into her mouth.

After finishing one and taking a sip of sweet iced tea, she sighed contentedly:

"This is what life is about.

"Damn, I forgot to brush my teeth..."

After finishing her grooming, she finally regained her ability to think. She looked at Xio with some confusion and asked:

"The Military Intelligence Department didn't suspect that you secretly became a 'Judge'?"

"They think it was a reward from the faction that directed me back then," Xio said, relating what she had heard.

Fors tidied her hair and smiled:

"That figures. Let them inquire with the ."

She then covered her mouth and yawned:

"I'm going to summon that person's messenger."

Over this period of "recording," her verbal reference to someone had evolved from "Gehrman Sparrow" and "Mr. World" to "that person."

Partly out of respect, and partly for fear of being overheard.

Hearing her friend's words, Xio glanced around and asked, somewhat puzzled:

"Don't we need to set up a ritual?"

She remembered that summoning a messenger required a ritual.

"This is just one method. That person told me to use another," Fors glanced at her clothes, noticing she hadn't had time to change the night before and they were now rumpled from sleep.

Thinking she would be meeting the messenger soon, she decided to pay attention to her appearance. She hurried back to the bedroom on the second floor and changed into a cream-colored, high-collared dress with ruffled edges.

Once ready, in front of Xio, she raised her right hand and reached forward, as if trying to grab something from the air.

In her eyes, a phantom book formed, pages flipping rapidly until it stopped at one.

The next second, her arm felt heavy as she dragged a figure out of the void.

It was Gehrman Sparrow, wearing a half-height silk top hat and a black woolen coat, with a stern expression, a hardened bearing, and a somewhat dazed look.

Success? This is only my second attempt... I only tried once yesterday, and it failed... Fors's eyes widened as if to take in more light and see more clearly.

She knew that what she had summoned was an image from the historical void, so she wasn't too nervous. Xio, however, instinctively held her breath, watching Gehrman Sparrow's projection warily, unable to tell whether it was real or not.

She still vividly remembered the feats of this mad adventurer.

Fors actually summoned Gehrman Sparrow? Shouldn't it be his messenger? Can Gehrman Sparrow be summoned as a summon? Xio's mind brimmed with questions.

Just as Fors was wondering what to do next, Gehrman Sparrow's eyes moved slightly, and his gaze suddenly became lively, no longer stiff or vacant, giving the feeling that he had come to life.

Then he took out a silver-white, exquisite harmonica, brought it to his lips, and blew.

There was no sound, but the surroundings instantly turned quite cold, and a bone-chilling wind began to blow.

Then, a lady in a somber, intricate dress, carrying four heads with blonde hair and red eyes, stepped out of the void. Eight eyes simultaneously fixed on Gehrman Sparrow.

Gehrman Sparrow nodded slightly and pointed at Fors:

"This lady needs to set four special coordinates deep in the Spirit World. Please help her."

"Alright..." One of 's heads bobbed up and down as it spoke.

Gehrman Sparrow said no more. As he approached the window, he made the glove on his left hand turn transparent.

His figure quickly vanished, "teleporting" out of the house.

He left... left... The historical void image I summoned just walked off on its own? Fors watched with her mouth slightly open, as if in a comedy show.

According to her understanding, the summoned should be at her command. How could it just give an order and leave on its own?

Could images from the historical void have their own personalities like the original... No, this felt like Gehrman Sparrow in person... Fors glanced at Xio and saw she was equally confused.
