Chapter 129: One Punch

January 20, 2025 · 3 min read · 634 words

"Well, well, I suppose that's about right. I'm finally warmed up. Why don't you bring out Alan now? I already know that you're—"

Right after those words, a black sword burst from the Grand Master's chest.

Without ever catching sight of Alan, he collapsed — and never got back up.

◇◇◇

First, I used Reverse on the bearded guy's [Fist God], flipping it into [Prospective Member].

Then I temporarily dispelled the gravity magic (10×) I'd been under, teleported behind the bearded guy, and drove the black steel sword, infused with magic, straight through his heart.

I actually wanted to pay Mist back for this, but since I couldn't, this will have to do.

Man, the Grand Master was a tough opponent.

"Well, Alan, I ended up having to borrow your strength after all."

"No, no, this was entirely unexpected — nothing to be done about it."

"Um, Master Alan, striking from behind like that... how should I put it..."

Enrique asked timidly, though honestly it might have been better to do things this way from the start.

"Why should I grant the bearded guy's wish? If I'd fought him head-on, he'd only have been happy about it. He's the enemy, you know?"

"Y-Yes, that's true..."

"Oh, and Enrique — sorry about earlier, when I told you to stop him. Even Guis couldn't stop the red-faced bearded guy. Why they ever made someone like that the Grand Master is already in the past, so there's nothing to be done about it."

"Y-Yes... Master Alan."

"Well then, congratulations on becoming the Grand Master! Your pay's going to go up. Way to go, Enrique!"

Enrique hung his head, imagining the chaos that was sure to engulf the Adventurers' Guild from here on out.

◇◇◇

Now for the cleanup.

I stood before the red-faced bearded guy's corpse.

"[Dark Magic] — Full Necromancy."

And just like that, the former Grand Master became my servant.

Commands are easier to enforce than with a basic Necromancy skill, and the result is somewhat stronger.

That said, depending on their personality before death, orders might not always go through.

Next, I reverse [Prospective Member] back to [Fist God].

And since the red-faced bearded guy is huge and in the way, I'll stash him in the necromancer-exclusive storage space for now.

Until his next time on stage.

One more thing — [Reverse], reverse the state of the Duke's estate garden!

The garden, which had been utterly wrecked by the red-faced bearded guy, became spotless once more.

"Now Lady Nina won't be heartbroken."

"The gardener will be out of a job..."

Ward muttered, but that wouldn't happen.

He'd never become the Duke's gardener in the first place.

On top of that, I healed Ward and the rest of the Duke's soldiers with Area High Heal.

Since there were no fatalities, the fact that the bearded guy had shown some degree of restraint made things just marginally less awful.

◇◇◇◇◇◇

I considered the pattern of weakening the bearded guy with Reverse first and then having Guis deliver the finishing blow, but it felt like overkill, so I let Alan wrap things up cleanly here instead.

I also added a small amount of text to make it clear in Chapter 127 that Alan had acquired [Fist God].

Between the line "Well, me too." and the first ◇◇◇.
