The Planar War had begun, but the High Gods paid it no mind.
After all, what determined the outcome of a war was the final battle.
High Gods had infinite lifespans — a thousand years was but the blink of an eye. Many High Gods had already begun leisurely discussing who would win and lose this Planar War. But the youngest High God, Lin Lei, was in the midst of a period of rapid growth in power.
At the edge of the Yulan Plane, a vast, newly-born divine plane was taking shape.
Inside this divine plane.
"Whoosh whoosh~~~" Violent winds howled, and certain rocks, once struck by the gale, crumbled into powder.
Yet in a newborn plane, the dense divine energy and elemental forces would coalesce once more into even harder stone, until the wind could no longer shatter it.
Mountains soared into the clouds. Vast plains stretched endlessly.
Dense elemental energy drifted between heaven and earth. A tall figure stood majestically amid the expanse. With a single gesture of his hand, a pale green sun materialized from thin air and hung suspended in the sky above.
"Over eleven hundred years — the Wind System Divine Plane is finally fully constructed." A faint smile crossed Lin Lei's face, his pale green hair catching the light. More than eleven hundred years of cultivation had advanced his Wind Elemental Laws to the level of fusing six profound mysteries. However, the Wind Elemental Laws contained a total of nine profound mysteries.
Fusing six in the Wind System was equivalent to fusing four profound mysteries of the Earth Laws.
"The final battle of the Planar War is still five hundred years away. No rush!"
Lin Lei, his pale green hair flowing, closed his eyes once more and continued cultivating.
The four different law profound mysteries were advancing by leaps and bounds. There was no way Lin Lei would stop now.
The seven hundred and sixty-fifth year since the start of the Planar War.
Hell. The Sky Sacrifice Mountain Range.
A blurry streak of light flickered above the Sky Sacrifice Mountain Range. Spatial rifts tore open across the heavens one after another. Moments later, the blur of light plunged down into Lin Lei's estate within the mountain range. The light faded, revealing six figures — the black-robed 'Breller' and five other Divine Agent messengers.
The white-robed 'Breller' watching from below finally broke into a smile. "Ha ha! It worked!"
"Perfectly executed. Less than ten percent of energy lost," marveled the flaxen-haired 'Vea Giantess.'
The divine beast, the Nine-Tailed Howling Wind Fox, Russell, nodded vigorously. "With the six of us combined — hrmph — even if thirty commander-level fighters came at us, as long as they weren't coordinated, I doubt they could beat us." Six powerhouses each wielding a High God artifact, and able to combine so flawlessly. The strength they could unleash was nothing short of terrifying.
"Fortunately, two of us are Water-attributed, and two more are Darkness-attributed," the white-robed 'Breller' said with a grin. "Water has strong compatibility, and Darkness — I understand that system deeply. That's why the modification succeeded!"
At that very moment —
Lin Lei appeared before the seven of them as though he had teleported.
"Lord High God." They promptly bowed.
Lin Lei swept his gaze over the assembled Divine Agents, a flash of satisfaction in his heart. The greatest success of this selection had been choosing 'Breller' — a master of magical arrays.
"With this Reincarnation Battle Formation, I have some confidence in your performance on the Planar Battlefield," Lin Lei said with a faint smile. "But don't get cocky. Even a Perfection-realm powerhouse faces a fifty percent chance of death in that environment. The six of you still need to be careful."
"Yes, Lord High God."
The Divine Agents bowed once more.
They understood how dangerous it was. The Reincarnation Battle Formation merely raised their odds of survival considerably — it was far from enough to roam the battlefield freely.
"Now that you've coordinated reasonably well, I'll send you to the Planar Battlefield today," Lin Lei said evenly. "Breller... will your Light divine clone stay here, or go with you?"
"In terms of combat ability, I'm somewhat weaker than my Darkness clone," the white-robed 'Breller' replied with a smile. "Moreover, this battle formation is built around two Darkness cultivators, two Water-attributed cultivators, one Earth cultivator, and one Wind-attributed cultivator — six attributes in total."
Lin Lei nodded slightly.
Though the white-robed 'Breller' and the black-robed 'Breller' differed in personality, they were ultimately the same person. The soul-defense High God artifact Lin Lei had bestowed could be used by the black-robed 'Breller' just as well.
After sending his six Divine Agent messengers to the Planar Battlefield, Lin Lei returned to the Sky Sacrifice Mountain Range.
The eight hundred and ninety-third year since the start of the Planar War.
"Whoosh!" A figure streaked across millions of miles at a terrifying speed and plummeted into the Sky Sacrifice Mountain Range.
Lin Lei, sitting alone in his courtyard, abruptly looked up.
The figure descended from the sky, landing directly on Lin Lei and merging into his body.
"At last, all my clones are together again." A faint smile appeared on Lin Lei's face.
"Lin Lei."
Belute and Qinghuo arrived almost simultaneously. Belute exclaimed with delight, "Your Wind System divine clone is back? What — has your four-law fusion reached completion?" After Lin Lei had successfully opened the Wind System Divine Plane, he had immediately resumed training. He wouldn't have returned unless he was finished.
"More or less," Lin Lei said with a mild smile, nodding. "The four-law fusion has reached its final bottleneck."
"Cross this threshold, and it will be a perfect fusion of all four laws. But this last step is even harder than achieving Perfection in a single law," Lin Lei sighed.
Both Belute and Qinghuo understood.
How difficult was it to achieve Perfection?
Lin Lei's cultivation speed had been astonishing because he possessed three High God clones. That was what allowed him to keep advancing until he reached this final bottleneck. But breaking through a bottleneck had nothing to do with one's capacity for deduction. Even now, there were many High Gods stuck at the final threshold of Perfection who had been unable to break through for hundreds of millions of years.
As for Lin Lei?
No one knew whether he could break through this final bottleneck.
