Chapter 7: Dragon Blood Continent

In the Yulan Plane, no one could kill Lin Lei. Without pressure, his days passed carefree and leisurely.

The peaceful time slipped by soundlessly, more than three hundred years fading away. Three hundred years was far too long for mortals — during that span, who knew how many had died and how many new lives had been born.

Yet in Dragon Blood Castle, almost nothing had changed.

For gods, a thousand years was but the blink of an eye.

"Lin Lei, you seem to be in a good mood today." Dilia walked alongside him through the rear garden.

"I made a slight breakthrough in my cultivation today," Lin Lei said with a smile.

"Oh? Have you fused three different mysteries from different laws?" Dilia asked, surprised.

"No, it's not that fast." Lin Lei shook his head. "The three mysteries of 'Earth Pulse,' 'Soft Suppleness,' and 'Dimensional Attack' — although I've already cultivated them to the final step and the overall fusion of the three has reached a bottleneck, this last hurdle is extremely difficult to break through."

The more mysteries one fused, the harder the bottleneck became.

Like the final bottleneck of fusing six mysteries — who knew how many powerhouses were stuck at that step, unable to reach Perfection.

"Then what breakthrough are you talking about?" Dilia asked, puzzled.

"It's the Fire Law mystery of 'Burst.' The mystery of 'Burst' is the hardest to fuse. Today it just finally harmonized with 'Earth Pulse,'" Lin Lei said mildly. "But speaking of which, my cultivation speed over these three hundred years has been considerably slower than I expected." After all, now that he had become a Main God, he had access to an immense reservoir of faith power supporting him.

His rate of deduction and comprehension was far faster than before as well.

Three hundred years now was probably equivalent to nearly ten thousand years before becoming a Main God.

"There's no rush. Time is infinite," Dilia said gently.

"You're not anxious, but what about Grandpa Belit and Greenfire?" Lin Lei glanced toward the garden gate. A short-haired young man walked in with a smile, his features bearing a sixty to seventy percent resemblance to Lin Lei — it was Lin Lei's son, Weidi.

"Father, Mother," Weidi said cheerfully. "Today is the grandest festival on Dragon Blood Continent. Aren't you two going to take a look?"

"Dragon Blood Continent?" Lin Lei paused, then laughed at himself. "I'd forgotten today is the Dragon Blood Festival." Back when Lin Lei had just become a Main God, during a conversation with Belit, Greenfire, and others, when the Yulan Continent and Greenfire Continent came up, on a whim he had created a continent of his own — Dragon Blood Continent.

This way, the three continents formed a perfect triangle.

Back then, Lin Lei had even used his Main God powers to transplant several small islands near the Yulan Continent and the Greenfire Continent — entire islands moved wholesale — to Dragon Blood Continent. The combined population of those islands was nearly ten million, and Lin Lei had also transferred a large number of magical beasts and other creatures there.

After more than three hundred years, because the land was vast and the magical beasts had been placed by Lin Lei in the far western reaches of Dragon Blood Continent, the humans had virtually no natural enemies.

In just over three hundred years, the population had surged from ten million to over a hundred million. During those centuries of development, the Baruch Empire had provided considerable assistance as well — such as maritime trade between the two continents. It was called trade, but in truth it was outright aid.

The people who had been moved to Dragon Blood Continent had designated September 24th as the Dragon Blood Festival.

"Lin Lei, the residents of Dragon Blood Continent all worship you. They regard you as their one true god. Surely you won't skip the Dragon Blood Festival?" Dilia teased with a smile. "The population is only a little over a hundred million, which isn't much, but Dragon Blood Continent's area is larger than either of the other two. If it keeps expanding without limit, in a few thousand years the population will surpass the Greenfire Continent."

"Father, quite a few people from the clan have already gone over," Weidi added.

"Very well. Let's go have a look."

The Yulan Continent, the Greenfire Continent, and the Dragon Blood Continent — the distances between these three were considerable for ordinary mortals, but for gods, even for those in the Saint Realm, they were quite close. The straits separating the three continents spanned only about ten thousand li. Lin Lei and Dilia crossed from the Yulan Continent to Dragon Blood Continent in the blink of an eye.

Dragon Blood Continent's first city — Baruch City, sharing its name with the Baruch Empire's capital — sat near the eastern coastline, the city closest to the Yulan Continent.

Being on the coast, it had developed quickly.

Now this leading city had grown into a sprawling metropolis housing millions of residents. Today was the Dragon Blood Festival, and Baruch City was bursting with excitement. Large numbers of people from the countryside had flooded in to join the celebration. Not just the plaza before the temple — every street in the city was packed shoulder to shoulder.

Lin Lei, in his green robe, and Dilia, in her white robe, walked through the thronged streets. Though the crowds were crushing, no one so much as brushed against Lin Lei or Dilia. No one even noticed the strangeness of it.

"It's getting livelier and livelier here. Last time I came, this street didn't have nearly this many shops," Lin Lei remarked calmly.

"Last time you came was over two years ago," Dilia pointed out.

"Two years? That's just the blink of an eye," Lin Lei said. His state of mind had shifted somewhat since becoming a Main God.

"By the way, when are you planning to create a Divine Plane?" Dilia asked curiously. "Grandpa Belit mentioned last time that when you create a Divine Plane, your soul resonates with the plane you've created and you gain insight into the laws. It's very beneficial for improving your strength. You're stuck at a bottleneck right now — why not give it a try?"

Every Main God possessed the ability to create a Divine Plane.

Once created, they would gain insight into the corresponding portion of the laws.

For instance, a Water System Main God would create a Water System Divine Plane. During the creation process, they would comprehend the water-system laws involved in forming the plane. Creating it once or creating it a hundred times yielded the same portion of insight — no difference. Moreover, creating a plane consumed far too much Mental Power, Main God's power, and time.

Most Main Gods only ever created one.

"Creating a Divine Plane isn't something that can be done in a day or two, or even a year or two. According to Grandpa Belit's experience, it takes over a thousand years," Lin Lei said with a sigh.
