"Sovereign of Light?" Lin Lei and Bei Bei exchanged a glance, their hearts clenching, before turning to look at Belute.
Belute was currently carrying Lin Lei and Bei Bei, racing toward the Yulan Continent at maximum speed while communicating with the Sovereign of Light via divine sense. "Haha, Augustus, if you ask me, you should just head back to your Light Godsdomain. Coming after us now is a complete waste of time. In the end, you'll return empty-handed."
His mockery was embedded in every word.
"Hmph, it's too early to say that. You're still a very long way from the Yulan Continent plane. You'd better pray you manage to escape into the Yulan plane before I catch up. Once I do—not just you, but the two beside you as well—you're all dead!" The Sovereign of Light's expression was grim. In the spatial storms, far from Belute, he was hurtling through the chaos at terrifying speed. In terms of sheer velocity alone, he was indeed much faster than Belute.
However...
Supreme planes and divine planes were inherently separated from material planes by vast distances. Moreover, a large number of material planes were clustered within the same region. The distance between the Ocalan plane and the Yulan plane was dozens of times shorter than the distance between the Ocalan plane and the Light Godsdomain.
"Haha, then keep chasing!" Belute said no more.
In the vast expanse of the spatial storms, one side fled while the other pursued.
In the Infernal Realm.
"That Lin Lei actually entered the spatial storms?" A figure shrouded in black light said in a low voice, then let out a quiet chuckle. "It seems Lin Lei simply can't bear to hand the Sovereign's token to other Chief Gods. That Belute behind him truly has nerve."
The Infernal Realm. The Amethyst Continent. The Amethyst Mountain Range.
"Besides Belute, there's no one else." The Amethyst Chief God easily deduced this. "With Belute's caution, there shouldn't be any problems."
News that Lin Lei had torn open a spatial rift and entered the spatial storms with Bei Bei quickly reached numerous Chief Gods through their Highgod subordinates. Not only the various Sovereigns—even other Chief Gods dispatched forces to monitor Lin Lei's movements.
The Wind Godsdomain.
"Hmph, from the Yulan plane to the Ocalan plane? How convenient. My homeland, the 'Dylan plane,' happens to sit right along the way." A silver-haired man with a hawk-like nose had just received the news and immediately flew toward the teleportation array in the Wind Godsdomain. He arrived at the array in short order.
"The Dylan plane," the Wind Chief God 'Teresia' said flatly, presenting his Chief God token.
"Yes, my lord."
The soldiers didn't dare delay. The teleportation array activated, light flickering. In the blink of an eye, the Wind Chief God 'Teresia' had arrived at the Dylan plane.
"Back when I said what I said, Belute didn't even give me face. Now... the opportunity is perfect." Having arrived at his homeland—the material plane 'Dylan plane'—Teresia immediately tore open space and entered the spatial storms. His divine sense spread outward in an instant.
A hint of a smile crept across Teresia's face as he transmitted: "Belute, how rare—you've actually left the Yulan plane. You're out!"
"You've actually left the Yulan plane and come out!" The voice echoed through Belute's mind, and his expression darkened involuntarily.
"Grandpa Belute, what's wrong?" Bei Bei noticed Belute's change in expression and quickly asked.
Lin Lei also looked at Belute with concern. Belute's face was grim. "Lin Lei, Bei Bei, things are looking very bad. Teresia is not far from us now, and he's directly in our path. At his speed, we'll probably run into him any moment."
"Teresia?" Lin Lei and Bei Bei exchanged a glance.
Lin Lei knew of the Wind Chief God 'Teresia.' Back when the Heavenly Mountain Prefecture Lord 'Mord' had spread his information, it was Teresia who had pressured Lin Lei to hand over the Nine Soul Pearls. If the Blood Peak Chief God hadn't stepped in, Lin Lei would likely have been killed by Teresia back then.
"Grandpa, it'll be alright, won't it?" Bei Bei said worriedly.
"This Teresia is a Low-tier Wind Chief God. I'm also a Low-tier Wind Chief God. However... in terms of the profound mysteries of Laws, he has reached the Pinnacle Highgod level. That makes things very troublesome." Though filled with worry, Belute continued pushing forward with Lin Lei and Bei Bei.
Lin Lei furrowed his brow.
They were both Low-tier Chief Gods, yet Teresia had achieved the Pinnacle in Laws. It seemed Belute was no match for him.
"Fighting Teresia isn't the real problem. The critical issue is... once he pins us down, if the Sovereign of Light catches up, it's over," Belute said with evident worry.
"Right. If Grandpa gets into a fight with Teresia, we won't be able to keep moving." Bei Bei's face flushed red with anxiety. "If the Sovereign of Light catches up, then we're..."
Lin Lei simply looked at Belute.
He and Bei Bei were of no help. They could only rely on Belute.
"Teresia! What do you want with a Sovereign's token? The Red Diamond Crystal is just one of three tokens. Even if you get it, it won't do you much good. Don't tell me you, a mere Low-tier Chief God, want to complete this task and obtain a Sovereign artifact?" Belute transmitted.
"If you want me to stop obstructing you, that can be arranged, Belute—just agree to my previous demand," Teresia transmitted.
"Keep dreaming." Belute couldn't help but grow angry.
"Haha, if you won't agree, then I'll stop you. Almost there—I expect I'll run into you shortly," Teresia transmitted triumphantly.
Belute suppressed his fury. "Fine. Name it—what would it take for you to let us pass?"
Teresia was a Pinnacle Low-tier Wind Chief God. In terms of speed alone, he was even slightly faster than Belute.
If Belute wanted to return to the Yulan Continent plane and circumvent Teresia, the detour would be far too long. Moreover, Teresia could simply arrive at the Yulan plane first and wait there. No matter how he looked at it... there was no avoiding Teresia.
"I've already stated my demands. Fine, if you can't agree to that, then how about this... hand the Red Diamond Crystal over to me, and I'll let you all go," Teresia transmitted.
Hand over the Red Diamond Crystal? Then wouldn't this whole trip have been for nothing?
"Teresia, don't push me too far." Belute's voice was cold with fury.
"Push you too far? So what if I do? All you know how to do is hide in the Yulan plane—you never dare come out," Teresia said with arrogant disdain.
"Hmph, then you and I shall settle this head-on," Belute transmitted through gritted teeth.
"Haha! The cowardly Belute actually has the nerve to say something like that—how rare, truly rare!" Teresia transmitted with booming laughter.
