Chapter 39: Raylin

"Mr. Raylin?" Lin Lei was both surprised and confused. Back then, Raylin had guided him, and at the time, Raylin had seemed incredibly powerful. But that was only because Lin Lei himself had been so weak. "Now I'm already considered above average among the commanders! Most commanders can't do anything to me. But that strike just now from Mr. Raylin—what level has his strength truly reached?"

Lin Lei had no way of knowing whether that strike was a casual blow from Raylin or one delivered at full power.

"Lin Lei, Bei Bei, it's been a while," Raylin said with a light laugh, drifting over casually.

"Haha!" Beside them, Heimosi suddenly burst into a hearty laugh that rumbled like continuous thunder. His golden eyes locked onto Raylin with burning intensity, and two visible beams of golden light shot from them. "Now there's a real expert! I, Heimosi, have been in this Planar Battlefield, and everyone runs away the moment they see me from miles off. It's rare to meet someone worth fighting! Fighting this kid from the Green Dragon clan has been uncomfortable, unsatisfying—holding me back at every turn! Your strength seems pretty good. Come, let's test each other!"

Lin Lei and Bei Bei were both stunned.

"Has Heimosi lost his mind?" Lin Lei blinked a couple of times.

He didn't realize that Heimosi had always been this straightforward and battle-hungry by nature.

No sooner had Heimosi finished speaking than he moved! His steel-like, golden-glowing thigh stomped down hard on the ground. BOOM! The earth split open directly, covered in hundreds upon hundreds of fine cracks. Heimosi's entire body transformed into a hazy golden bolt of lightning and shot straight toward Raylin!

"What a reckless brute," Raylin said, arching his crimson eyebrows with a soft laugh.

In his snow-white robe, Raylin stood his ground without moving to dodge.

BOOM! Heimosi's golden right leg crashed toward Raylin like a meteor. The kick sent heaven and earth trembling, warping space itself and tearing open dozens of twisted spatial rifts.

"What a terrifying kick," Lin Lei's expression changed.

"Boss, when he was fighting you just now, he wasn't nearly this strong," Bei Bei said.

Lin Lei knew perfectly well that he'd only been able to keep up by using spatial gravity to compress and restrict Heimosi, preventing him from unleashing his full strength. Otherwise, with Heimosi's naturally monstrous power, there was no way Lin Lei could have withstood each blow. "Bei Bei, watch carefully how Mr. Raylin handles this," Lin Lei said, his eyes fixed on the ensuing battle without a moment's distraction.

Bei Bei watched intently as well.

"Not bad." Raylin simply stood in place, and in a bizarre turn, the golden leg shadow passed right through his body.

Raylin's figure dissipated, and he reappeared three meters away.

"Teleportation?" Lin Lei's face changed. "No—it's speed! Incredible speed, on par with Byer's! Facing Heimosi's full-power kick and still daring to dodge only at the very last moment—this speed is simply…" This was the second time Lin Lei had witnessed such terrifying speed.

Heimosi's kick hit empty air, but he let out a roar: "Good!" At the same time, his thick waist twisted violently.

His body spun like a windmill, and the golden leg shadow spun with it, barely losing any momentum as it continued toward Raylin. A faint smile still hung on Raylin's face, without a trace of panic or gravity.

Swish! Swish!

To the eyes of Lin Lei, Bei Bei, and Heimosi, Raylin's figure flickered as if teleporting—creating several afterimages in succession before he was suddenly standing calmly on flat ground a hundred meters away.

"Boss, what kind of speed does this Raylin have? What profound mystery does it contain?" Bei Bei asked, confused.

Lin Lei had been cultivating the Fire Elemental Laws and had some understanding. "The Fire system is different from the Wind system. Byer's movements are ethereal and illusory—his speed is extremely fast, but it's like the wind, invisible and formless. Mr. Raylin is different. Look at him—he's like fire. Flames are violent, explosive, bursting with passion! Mr. Raylin's speed isn't ethereal or illusory at all; it's an explosion. His speed detonates to the extreme in an instant—to the point where even you and I would think he's teleporting."

Lin Lei was thoroughly amazed.

To achieve such speed—just by this one ability alone, Raylin was already considered top-tier among the commanders.

"What is wrong with you?" Heimosi roared in frustration. "Always dodging? That's so boring! I, Heimosi, am giving you face by fighting you. If you've got the guts, clash with me head-on!" Heimosi shouted from the side, unwilling to accept it. He clearly knew his speed was far inferior to this person's.

The truth was, Heimosi felt both frustrated and indignant. His attacks were incredibly powerful, and his defense was equally formidable—but his speed was lacking, and he wasn't skilled at long-range attacks.

So many strong fighters who encountered Heimosi fled from miles away. Once or twice this happened, and then hundreds of times over. Heimosi had grown to despise those who relied on speed to dodge.

"You're an interesting one," Raylin said, a slight smile still on his face.

"Interesting my ass!" Heimosi lifted his head and bellowed. "Shorty, if you've got the guts, fight me face-to-face!" As he spoke, he slammed his two massive fists together. BOOM! The sound was like a mountain collapsing, so violent that spatial cracks appeared between his fists.

"Shorty, do you dare?" Heimosi declared, head held high.

Raylin was of perfectly normal height, but since Heimosi stood three meters tall, calling Raylin "shorty" was not unreasonable.

"Haha…"

Raylin couldn't help but laugh. "I've been in this Planar Battlefield for quite some time now, and I haven't made a single move yet. Very well—today I'll get some good exercise in. Come!" As Raylin finished speaking, BOOM—flames flickered faintly around his entire body, and beneath his crimson eyebrows, his eyes burst with fiery red light.

Like a god of war born of flames!

"Good!" Heimosi laughed heartily, then strode toward Raylin, each heavy step making the ground tremble.

Lin Lei and Bei Bei watched from the side with full concentration. "Boss, who do you think will win? I mean if they fight head-on—who takes it?" Bei Bei transmitted mentally. Lin Lei shook his head. "Hard to say. Based on the intelligence your grandfather provided, Heimosi is extraordinarily gifted—his attacks are comparable to those of a perfected upper god. If Mr. Raylin clashes with him head-on, it's hard to predict the outcome."

Enveloped in flames, Raylin stood quietly watching Heimosi charge toward him.

"Ha!"
