The green-haired girl and the blue-robed youth had no time to dodge; their first instinct was to block with their respective Sovereign artifacts. Two massive fists came hurtling toward them like a pair of small mountains bearing down.
*Boom!* *Boom!*
Two heavy impacts rang out as the green-haired girl and the blue-robed youth were smashed deep underground. Moments later, the two shot back up from below, hovering in the air and grouping together with the other four.
"We had it wrong." Lanasha's voice was low as she transmitted to the other five. "That big brute is an 'Earth Sovereign,' not a human! When in human form, the head is indeed the weak point, and the soul resides within it. But in his current Earth Sovereign form, his weak point is the 'heart core'! The soul is in the heart core, and so is the divine spark!"
Just like the flame giant Lin Lei had encountered back in the Deity graveyard — even after being shattered all over, it hadn't died, because its weak point was that transparent stone. Which was to say, the heart core!
Metallic, rock-like lifeforms possessed one most critical heart core.
The soul resided within it, and upon becoming a god, the divine spark would fuse into it as well! As long as the heart core was destroyed, the creature could be killed!
"Haha, so that's how it is." The blue-robed youth laughed. "Now that we know his weak point, killing him will be simple."
"I'll use my innate divine ability one more time. The rest is up to you." Lanasha transmitted to the other five. In truth, without the innate divine ability, the six of them could still kill Lei Hong. After all, Lei Hong only had two fists and couldn't possibly fend off all six at once. They could easily seize the opportunity to blast a hole through his chest and charge inside. Destroy the heart core!
Still, using her innate divine ability to restrain Lei Hong first would make killing him effortless.
"Your ally is quite something, I'll give you that. An Earth Sovereign — one of those innately freakish existences — and his mastery of the Laws has reached this level too. That's rare." Montello looked perfectly at ease. He was fully confident that his side could easily finish off Lei Hong. That last blow had simply been a momentary miscalculation.

Innate Divine Ability — Amethyst Barrier!
Streaks of black Sovereign power tinged with purple radiance spread outward, forming a massive black cocoon. However, instead of shielding anyone, this black cocoon wrapped itself tightly around Montello. In truth, the shape the Amethyst Barrier took and whom it encased were entirely under Lei Sijing's control. In that single instant, Montello was trapped within the Amethyst Barrier, unable to break free.
Lei Sijing was free!
"Lei Hong, run!" Lei Sijing urgently transmitted via divine sense.
At the same time, Lei Sijing shot forward like a speeding arrow. As he launched himself, a purple spear materialized in his hand. His right arm traced a wide arc as he hurled it forward with all his might. A streak of purple light hurtled through the air at terrifying speed, striking straight at the silver-robed woman — Lanasha.
Lanasha had no choice but to cross both arms in front of her.
*Clang!* The purple light slammed into Lanasha's crossed arms, and the impact sent her entire body flying backward.
Lanasha had dared to block head-on because she had her reasons — the only Sovereign artifact she possessed was also a defensive material Sovereign artifact.
Although Lanasha wasn't killed, she was sent hurtling away, and her innate divine ability was forcibly interrupted.
"Lei Hong, get moving!" Lei Sijing cried out in desperation.
"Out of the way!" a sharp cry rang out as the green-haired girl flickered forward, arriving before Lei Sijing in an instant — seizing the chance to launch a surprise attack. Lei Sijing's own attack was still returning from his primary divine artifact. He could only let out a low growl, extending his palm and slapping it outward with brutal force—
Lei Sijing's palm glimmered with a crystalline sheen laced with dark light, seemingly tossed out with casual ease, yet it swept across the world like an all-encompassing tide, enveloping that petite fist.
"Boom!" A muffled, heavy impact sounded. Lei Sijing was knocked back by the recoil, and simultaneously a crisp "crack" rang out as a bone snapped.
"Ssss~~" Wu Man's body shrank dramatically.
A hazy black radiance spread outward from within Lei Sijing, forming a thousand-meter-wide 'Amethyst Space.' The tremendous gravitational pull forced all seven enemies to shudder involuntarily.
"Don't let them escape — kill them!" Lanasha's voice cut through via divine transmission.
"We need to go. Now." Lei Sijing wasted no more thought on anything else. With Wu Man still in tow, they bolted in a desperate dash for freedom.
"Snap!" A long whip lashed out with blinding speed, striking Wu Man squarely. The others closed in hot pursuit.
"You think you can run?" By now, Montro had broken through the Amethyst Barrier as well, and countless white beams of light surged toward Lei Sijing once more, binding toward him.
"Roar~~"
Lei Sijing spun around and unleashed a furious roar. A torrent of Destruction divine power erupted outward, forming an enormous net — his innate divine ability, the Amethyst Barrier. The colossal barrier swept back over the seven pursuers, but unfortunately the group was too spread out to be caught entirely. Only four were trapped; three broke free, Montro among them.
"Whoosh!" "Whoosh!"
Lei Sijing and Wu Man shot forward at full speed.
"After them!" Montro barked.
Lei Sijing knew the situation was dire, yet he also understood: "Lin Lei and Bei Bei are underground, being chased by that Wu Man. Wu Man is powerful, yes, but Bei Bei's defense is extraordinary — they won't die." Even as he fled, Lei Sijing suddenly tilted his head to the heavens and bellowed: "Lin Lei! You two, run for your lives… if fate allows, we'll meet again someday!"
That roar echoed across heaven and earth.
Deep underground, Lin Lei and Bei Bei were fleeing in a wretched state. Wu Man was clearly a powerhouse who had cultivated the Laws of the Earth — his spatial perception underground was razor-sharp. Though Lin Lei and Bei Bei had used the Blackstone Space to pull several hundred meters ahead, Wu Man could still pinpoint their exact positions with ease.
That Wu Man had his eyes locked on the two of them, refusing to let go.
