Lin Lei understood perfectly!

When he had first entered the Planar Battlefield, Lin Lei had noticed many military camps. Most of these camps were stationed along the Star River and had remained still without any movement. At the time, Lin Lei hadn't understood why. Now he knew... right up until the final moment, the two great armies would clash against each other.

"That's too cruel. It's sending people to their deaths," Lin Lei couldn't help but say.

"Though it's cruel, it's also the best opportunity to earn military merits," Belute said with a faint smile. "In a chaotic battle between two great armies, even a Commander could perish in the melee. And those with good luck might suddenly obtain a huge number of soldier badges—or even a Commander badge! That's when the harvest is greatest, and also when it's most dangerous."

In Lin Lei's mind, a scene immediately surfaced—a dense, countless mass of Highgods charging at each other, Commanders among them.

That was indeed a terrifying sight.

"You'd best gather enough Commander badges before then," Belute said with a faint smile.

Lin Lei nodded. In the chaos of two armies clashing, it was true that enormous gains could be had—but the danger was far greater as well.

"If I can't collect enough Commander badges during the thousand-year period, I'll have no choice but to join the chaotic battle," Lin Lei told himself silently. For the sake of his family and brothers, he would not back down.

Within the Planar Battlefield, inside the hollow of a small, charred mountain, Lin Lei and Bei Bei were holed up. Such lifeless, blackened hills could be found everywhere on the battlefield.

*Crunch.* Bei Bei was eating fruit.

Lin Lei, sitting cross-legged in meditation, suddenly opened his eyes.

"Huh, boss? Got some news from Grandpa?" Bei Bei immediately perked up, eyes bright. Lin Lei smiled and nodded. "Right. I've gotten to know most of the Commander-level figures from each of the great Planes. Starting today... here's the plan—I'll control the Death傀儡 by myself and send it out to draw in Commanders."

They had plenty of time, so Lin Lei wasn't in a hurry.

"Mm," Bei Bei grinned and nodded. "Sure. I still want to take a nap here. When you find a target, wake me up then." Even in the Planar Battlefield, Bei Bei was in the mood to sleep.

"This Planar War still has over eight hundred years—nearly nine hundred—left. That's a long time, and it should be put to good use. Perhaps during this period, I can fuse the four profound mysteries of my Laws of the Earth together," Lin Lei said with a sigh.

"Huh? Four? Oh right, boss—your 'Earth Pulse,' 'Strength of the Earth,' 'Earth Element,' and 'Gravity Space' already resonate with each other, don't they? The fusion speed should be pretty quick," Bei Bei muttered.

"They do resonate. What I need to do now is fuse 'Strength of the Earth' with 'Earth Element' and 'Gravity Space' separately first. Only after those pair fusions succeed can I perform the overall fusion. I estimate another hundred years or so for the separate fusions to succeed," Lin Lei said with a light smile. In truth, after spending sixty or seventy years in the Netherworld, Lin Lei had already made tremendous progress.

After all, once resonance was achieved, reaching the bottleneck of fusion was simply a matter of time.

"Wow, once you fuse all four profound mysteries, boss, your offensive power is going to jump by a whole other level!" Bei Bei said excitedly.

"Actually, I already have a direction in mind," Lin Lei said with a faint smile.

Having witnessed the Crimson Rock Lord and Himmelus in action, Lin Lei had gained insights of his own.

Bei Bei either slept or cultivated—in any case, he simply waited patiently. Lin Lei's clones were all engaged in cultivation, while his true self controlled the Death傀儡 outside. Time flowed on like that... and in the blink of an eye, two more months passed.

"Only two months and we've already lost a Death傀儡," Lin Lei said, shaking his head helplessly. "Half a month ago, we ran into that supreme expert from the Divine Light Plane. I even had the Death傀licer flee, but he chased it down and destroyed it outright. Then he searched the surrounding area. Luckily, we were hidden deep enough... his divine sense couldn't extend in here."

Bei Bei opened his eyes and laughed. "It's just one Death傀licer. Pocket change. No big deal."

"If I'd known, I would have bought more to bring in," Lin Lei said.

At that moment, Lin Lei was already controlling another Death傀licer on patrol outside.

"Two months, and we still haven't run into a suitable opponent," Bei Bei sighed.

"Stop sighing. If we hadn't gone to your Grandpa Belute to look up intel on the strong ones, we probably would have gone after that supreme expert last time. We were lucky to dodge that bullet," Lin Lei laughed. Just as Lin Lei and Bei Bei were lamenting their situation, suddenly—

*BOOM!*

The entire mountain shook violently, rocks tumbling down and striking both Lin Lei and Bei Bei.

"What's going on? What was that noise?" Bei Bei frowned.

"Hold on—my Death傀licer is several thousand meters away... oh, the Death傀licer saw it. It's two powerhouses fighting!" Lin Lei said in surprise.

Right beside the mountain where Lin Lei and Bei Bei were hidden, two figures were locked in rapid combat—one a purple phantom, the other a white phantom. From the purple phantom's body, streams of hazy purple blade shadows flew out, and one of those blade shadows slashed狠狠地into the small mountain beside them.

*BOOM!*

A violent collision sent the two figures rebounding apart. The purple phantom was a sinister young man in purple robes with green eyes, while the white phantom was a handsome young man with silver hair and blue eyes, his face满是 fury.

"Langsilo! Don't push it too far! We're on the same side—why do you insist on killing me?" the silver-haired youth shouted.

"Hmph, same side so what? Once you enter the Planar Battlefield, you should be prepared to be hunted down," the green-eyed, purple-robed youth said with a cold laugh. Then, without further words, purple lightning serpents began coiling around his entire body, and overhead, a cloud of lightning serpents materialized in the sky.

The silver-haired youth's expression changed.

In terms of speed, he was no match for Langsilo, who cultivated the Laws of Lightning. He couldn't escape! He could only fight!

Knowing full well he was weaker, he had no choice but to stand his ground. With a low roar, he said: "Langsilo, if you won't give me even a sliver of a chance, then I won't make things easy for you either!" White light surfaced over the silver-haired youth's body, and with a sharp shout, a white spear and a translucent spear appeared before him.

Physical attack and soul attack combined!

*Swish!*
