Lin Lei and Bei Bei couldn't contain their shock.
"If I had really flown in just now, I'd probably be dead!" Lin Lei broke out in a cold sweat. He hadn't even dragon-transformed yet — his plan had been to transform right before entering Youming Mountain. Who would have thought that this seemingly safe 'gap' could be so dangerous? Without the dragon transformation, he absolutely couldn't have withstood it. However…
Bei Bei had been flying ahead. Since Bei Bei approached first, if anything had triggered a change in the lightning chains, Lin Lei would have had time to react.
Lin Lei turned to the green-robed young man and said gratefully, "Thank you so much. By the way, may I ask — what are you doing around Youming Mountain?"
It was no wonder Lin Lei was puzzled. The green-robed young man was only a Mid God.
The dangers of the Netherworld were no less than those of the Inferno. A Mid God wandering around out here was practically courting death.
"I live nearby," the green-robed young man said with a smile, pointing not far away.
Lin Lei looked in the direction the young man was pointing. Several thousand meters away, he could see a cluster of uniform courtyard houses, and in front of them stood a three-story building. Four large characters were written on the building — Youming Hotel!
"You opened a hotel here?" Lin Lei was somewhat surprised.
"Youming Hotel?" Bei Bei asked curiously. "Who runs this hotel of yours? Opening a hotel out in the wilderness like this — that's pretty bold." In such a desolate place, opening a hotel was just handing it over to bandits, unless one had extraordinary backing. Only a power of tremendous influence would dare open a hotel in the barren wilderness outside any city.
The green-robed young man said proudly, "Our hotel belongs to the Green Leaf Castle. Who would dare cause trouble here?"
"What is Green Leaf Castle?" Bei Bei asked. Lin Lei also looked at the green-robed young man with puzzlement.
The green-robed young man faltered, staring at Lin Lei and Bei Bei as if they were monsters. "You've never even heard of Green Leaf Castle? You're both Upper Gods — you've spent all these years in the Netherworld and never had contact with the outside world?" He couldn't believe they didn't know about Green Leaf Castle.
"We came from the Inferno," Lin Lei said.
"Oh, so that's how it is. I didn't expect you two to have come from the Inferno," the green-robed young man said in understanding.
"Let me tell you!" the green-robed young man said with a grin. "Our hotel is run by the Green Leaf Castle. And the Green Leaf Castle is famous throughout the Netherworld! Our Green Leaf Castle has a total of three Castle Masters, and these three Castle Masters… are all great Highgod's envoys!"
Lin Lei and Bei Bei were stunned.
Three Castle Masters, and all of them were Highgod's envoys? No wonder the Green Leaf Castle was so powerful.
"Where is your Green Leaf Castle?" Lin Lei pressed. He had read a book describing the general geography of the Netherworld, and it covered some of the more well-known places. If Green Leaf Castle was truly that famous, there was no reason the book wouldn't have mentioned it.
"I don't know," the green-robed young man said, shaking his head. "Where exactly the Green Leaf Castle is — that's a secret of the Netherworld."
Lin Lei smiled and dropped the subject, getting straight to the point. "May I ask — do you know how to enter Youming Mountain?"
"To enter Youming Mountain… oh, it's at the foot of the northern slope. About a little over a thousand li from here, there's a mountain gate. Anyone who wants to enter Youming Mountain goes through that gate," the green-robed young man said with a smile. He lived here, so he naturally knew all of this.
"Oh, thank you then," Lin Lei said with a smile, and was about to fly off with Bei Bei.
"Hey, wait a moment!" The green-robed young man called out when he saw Lin Lei and Bei Bei were about to leave.
"Hmm?" Both Lin Lei and Bei Bei turned to look at him.
The green-robed young man said quickly, "You two are too hasty. It looks like what you know about Youming Mountain is far too little! Youming Mountain is extremely dangerous…"
"We know it's dangerous," Bei Bei said with a grin. "What's there to fear about danger?"
The green-robed young man said helplessly, "I know you two are powerful, but… the cloud fog covering the surface of Youming Mountain is also very bizarre. However… whenever the night of the full moon arrives, the cloud fog over Youming Mountain thins out, and its power diminishes greatly. Most people who enter Youming Mountain go in at that time!"
"The full moon night?" Lin Lei calculated. "That's five days from now!"
"If you two really must go in, I'd suggest waiting the five days. The danger level will be lower then. There's no rush," the green-robed young man said.
Lin Lei and Bei Bei exchanged a glance and came to a decision.
"Very well, we'll wait five days. Then we'll stay at your Youming Hotel for now," Lin Lei said with a smile.
"Good, I'll lead you two there." The green-robed young man smiled happily. In truth, he had rushed over the moment he saw Lin Lei and Bei Bei flying toward Youming Mountain… He had done this sort of guest-greeting many times before.
The Youming Hotel was located right beside Youming Mountain.
In front of the hotel's main gate was a large expanse of meadow, with a small lake in its center. When Lin Lei and Bei Bei arrived under the green-robed young man's guidance, the first thing that caught Lin Lei's eye was a striking red-haired young woman sitting by the lake, fishing. The young woman glanced at Lin Lei and Bei Bei, then went back to her fishing without a care.
"Interesting," Lin Lei said with a smile.
"Hey, who's that woman?" Bei Bei asked the green-robed young man.
The green-robed young man said quickly, "You two should be careful. That woman is our hotel's owner — she came from the Green Leaf Castle. I don't know much about her… but I've heard that the owner has a rather close relationship with one of the Green Leaf Castle's three Castle Masters, and the owner is also very powerful."
"Kewen, you talk too much!" A cold, sharp voice cut in.
"Ah, Boss, I'm sorry!" The green-robed young man immediately bowed. Then he turned to Lin Lei and Bei Bei with a smile. "Our Boss is cold to strangers, but she's very good to us."
With that, the green-robed young man led Lin Lei and Bei Bei through the hotel's main gate.
The hotel's lobby was very large, divided into two sections. One section served as the reception area for incoming guests, and the other was a dining hall. The dining area had dozens of tables, and at the moment, over a dozen people were seated there, drinking and chatting.
"How long will you be staying?" asked a woman in a green robe behind the counter.
"Five days," Bei Bei said.
