"Since you've agreed to meet this friend of mine,
"Of course—this friend of mine has been waiting for you," Prospero said.
"Boss, then I'm heading out." Bei Bei turned to look at Lin Lei.
Lin Lei was curious about who this mysterious person was, but since the meeting place was within the city, he felt at ease. He nodded with a smile. "Go and come back quickly. This Prospero is deliberately hiding that person's identity from me. I'm waiting for you to come back and tell me."
"Mm." Bei Bei nodded firmly, then deliberately glanced at Prospero. "I'm not like some people who act all mysterious."
"You brat." Prospero couldn't help but laugh.
Bei Bei strode toward the door, saying as he went, "You two, hurry up and lead the way. I don't know where this mysterious person who wants to see me lives." Prospero's two servants quickly stepped forward to lead Bei Bei.
Lin Lei watched Bei Bei leave, his curiosity growing stronger.
"Prospero," Dilia said with a smile, looking at Prospero, "Bei Bei's already gone. There's no need to keep it a secret anymore. Who exactly is this mysterious friend of yours?" Lin Lei also turned to look at Prospero, waiting for his answer.
Prospero just smiled but didn't answer.
"Do I know this person?" Lin Lei asked quickly.
Prospero considered for a moment, then said, "You probably don't know him."
Lin Lei looked at Prospero in puzzlement. "Probably don't know him"? Either you knew someone or you didn't. Why was Prospero being so evasive?
"Lin Lei, have you been alive for ten thousand years since your birth?" Prospero asked.
"Ten thousand years?" Lin Lei laughed. "I've only been cultivating for just over a thousand years. I'm nowhere near two thousand, let alone ten thousand."
"That short?" Prospero was somewhat surprised, then said, "Then I'm certain—whether or not you've heard this friend's name, you've definitely never met him in person. Because... ten thousand years ago, he left your Yulan Continent and came to the Hells."
Lin Lei and Dilia exchanged astonished glances.
From the Yulan Continent?
"He's from the Yulan Continent?" Tarosha, Di Lin, Xisai, and the others standing behind were all surprised.
Prospero saw the astonished and confused expressions of everyone before him and laughed smugly. "Ha ha, keep guessing. I won't tell you... When Bei Bei comes back, you'll know. But I suspect you'll have a very hard time guessing."
Lin Lei couldn't help but shake his head with a smile. This Prospero really did enjoy teasing people.
"Lin Lei, how long are you staying here?" Prospero suddenly asked.
"About a month," Lin Lei said.
"Oh, that long? Then I'll stay here for two days. If you have time these two days, you'll have to tell me about the internal affairs of the Four Divine Beast Families. I'm quite curious about those families," Prospero said with a chuckle.
And so, Prospero stayed the night at the estate. Fortunately, the mansion Tarosha and the others had bought was large, with plenty of rooms.
Night.
Lin Lei and Dilia lay nestled together on the bed. After some passionate intimacy, in the quiet of late night, the couple discussed the mysterious person.
"I thought Bei Bei would be back the same day. I didn't expect it to take this long," Lin Lei said, stroking Dilia's silky hair with a smile.
"Maybe after Bei Bei met this mysterious person, they had a lot to talk about, or there were some matters to attend to," Dilia said. "This mysterious person arrived at the Yulan Continent ten thousand years ago, yet we've never met him even once. I really wonder who it is."
"I originally thought it was Lord
Then Lin Lei smiled and looked down at Dilia.
"What is it?" Dilia sensed something off about Lin Lei's gaze.
"We only have two children so far. True, the Four Divine Beast Families have very few offspring, but I refuse to believe we can't have a third child," Lin Lei said with a low laugh, then leaned down and kissed Dilia.
"Mmm..."
Dilia's face flushed slightly. She gave Lin Lei a deliberate glare, then extended her slender arms to wrap around his neck. The two rolled over and entangled themselves together...
Who would have thought that Bei Bei would not return even by the day Prospero left? Lin Lei was getting a bit anxious—how could meeting one person take a full three days? He asked Prospero about it, but Prospero told him not to worry.
By the fifth day...
"Today's floating projections are quite good. The fighting styles of the Sovereign Plane of Life's powerhouses are rather unique—their flying movements and attack postures all look so beautiful and captivating," Dilia said with an admiring smile.
Lin Lei nodded. "The Sovereign Plane of Life—most cultivators there practice the Laws of Life. Those attacks may look pleasing to the eye, but their power is truly terrifying."
During their days in Milling City, Lin Lei and Dilia had explored some of the city's more interesting places. He had to admit—the bustling Milling City was far more interesting than the Heavenly Sacrifice Mountain Range.
As Lin Lei and Dilia chatted and laughed, they arrived back at their residence.
Seeing the mansion gates, Dilia sighed. "I wonder if Bei Bei's back. It's already the fifth day." Despite her worry, she wasn't overly concerned—first, because Bei Bei was within the city and wouldn't come to any harm; second, because Lin Lei and Bei Bei were connected by their souls and could sense each other's positions.
Lin Lei just smiled without a word, gazing at the mansion gates.
He had already sensed with his soul that Bei Bei was inside the mansion. Just then, a cheerful shout rang out: "Boss!" The mansion gates swung open, and there stood Bei Bei at the entrance, wearing his straw hat, grinning at Lin Lei and Dilia.
