Based on everything Lin Lei had learned on his journey and what Belute had told him, Lin Lei had always considered the Four Divine Beast Families to be extremely powerful. And on Miluo Island, after watching the numerous floating images that night and discussing his plans to leave for the Azure Prefecture with the fortress lord "Mosi," Mosi had also spoken about the Four Divine Beast Families.
In Mosi's words, the Four Divine Beast Families had apparently declined.
But even after their decline, they should still be roughly comparable to the Baggio Family.
"The Baggio Family has absolute authority on Miluo Island—no one dares to cross them! For countless years, Miluo Island's reputation has spread far and wide. Something like this would never happen on Miluo Island. Someone who serves the Baggio Family would never be hunted down like this!"
Lin Lei truly couldn't believe it.
The Azure Prefecture was essentially the Four Divine Beast Families' stronghold. If the powerful Four Divine Beast Families were based there, why was their situation like this? Would a truly powerful family allow something like this to happen?
Anyone with half a brain could figure it out.
If such a thing occurred under a powerful family, they would immediately wipe out that "Bolin Family" just now—kill the chicken to scare the monkey!
"Something's not right." Lin Lei narrowed his eyes slightly. The joy of returning to his family vanished in an instant, replaced by worry. The situation of the Four Divine Beast Families didn't seem to be what he had imagined at all.
Inside the metallic lifeform, Tarosha, Bei Bei, Dilia—everyone was puzzled and confused by what they had just witnessed.
"Boss," Bei Bei said with a frown.
Tarosha also spoke gravely: "Lin Lei, the Four Divine Beast Families in the Azure Prefecture don't seem all that dominant." Back when Lin Lei had invited Tarosha and the others to the Azure Prefecture, he had said that with the Four Divine Beast Families' influence there, they would no longer face any hardship or danger.
But now it seemed…
"I'm not sure either," Lin Lei said with a serious expression.
After all, he had never actually visited the Four Divine Beast Families before. Everything had been based on various reports and rumors.
"Sorry—it seems I may have dragged everyone into a dangerous situation," Lin Lei couldn't help but say to Olivia and Tarosha. He had invited them along because he wanted all his brothers from the Yulan Continent to be together, and he hadn't expected much danger.
In his view, there should be no danger at his family's home base.
But it seemed he had been wrong.
Di Lin laughed: "Lin Lei, don't overthink it. No matter what, my life is yours anyway—what else is there to worry about?"
"Let's go. Even if someone wants to kill us, we'll have to see if they've got the strength for it," Tarosha said.
Lin Lei nodded as well. If the Four Divine Beast Families were comparable to the Baggio Family, then a force that strong could never simply collapse overnight. A starved camel was still bigger than a horse.
In Mosi's words, the declined Four Divine Beast Families were still on par with the Baggio Family.
And before their decline?
A family that had once been so incredibly powerful—how could it possibly be finished?
"Let's head to Vance City first." Lin Lei stopped overthinking.
Vance City was the westernmost city within the Azure Prefecture's territory and also the first city Lin Lei and his group would reach upon arriving. Vance City, like every other city in Hell—was bustling!
The streets were packed with people, thronging in every direction.
"Boss, where should we go to find out the Four Divine Beast Families' location?" Bei Bei asked doubtfully.
The Martial God O'Brien, however, smiled: "Just find somewhere—like the Demon Castle. We can ask around there. People in the Azure Prefecture should know all about the famous Four Divine Beast Families."
Going to the Demon Castle to inquire was indeed a good approach.
"No rush—let's go to Blood Peak Castle first!" Lin Lei said.
Just as the Purple Thorn Continent had its Purple Thorn Castle, the Blood Peak Continent had Blood Peak Castle. Both served the same function—buying and selling massive quantities of goods.
"Why Blood Peak Castle?" Di Lin asked.
"Bei Bei, remember when we bought books at Purple Thorn Castle that one time?" Lin Lei turned to look at Bei Bei, who nodded immediately: "I remember. That time, we went to buy geography books about Hell."
"Right. Last time we only needed a general overview of all of Hell, so the books we bought had very rough descriptions of each of the 108 Prefectures. But even then, we saw plenty of books that gave extremely detailed introductions to individual prefectures," Lin Lei explained.
A book devoted to introducing a single prefecture could be five or six centimeters thick.
Such a detailed book covering one prefecture would naturally describe all of that prefecture's special locations and powerful families in great detail. It would probably even mention some of the supreme powerhouses.
Dilia's eyes lit up, and she nodded approvingly: "Buy one that gives a detailed introduction to the 'Azure Prefecture.' The Four Divine Beast Families are so famous in the Azure Prefecture—they'll definitely be described thoroughly. Every location would be clearly stated."
Lin Lei smiled and nodded.
If they asked people, whoever pointed them to a location might not even know where it was themselves.
After all, he didn't have a detailed map of the Azure Prefecture either—only a rough idea of where the important areas were. But by purchasing a book with a detailed introduction to the "Azure Prefecture," even the geography would become crystal clear.
"Buy books? I've never bought any books since coming to Hell," Tarosha said with a laugh.
"Why would you buy books on Miluo Island? You only go when you need something," Lin Lei replied as he headed straight toward Blood Peak Castle.
In any city, those three castles were always the most prosperous and bustling places. Following the flow of people, Lin Lei and his group quickly arrived at Blood Peak Castle. At the entrance, Blood Peak Army soldiers stood watch.
"Tch tch, I still think the Blood Peak Army uniforms look cooler. Better than the Purple Thorn Army or the Star Army," Bei Bei murmured, watching the Blood Peak Army soldiers at the entrance.
Lin Lei glanced over: "More murderous aura than the Purple Thorn or Star Armies."
"Let's go," Lin Lei said, and the group entered the first level of Blood Peak Castle. The layout was very similar to Purple Thorn Castle, and they easily found the separate room dedicated to housing a vast collection of books.
There were only three people inside, one of whom was a staff member.
"What would you like to buy?" Seeing Lin Lei's group walk in—and noticing that most of them were Highgods—the staff member hurried forward to greet them.
