Pusuluo's voice still echoed in their ears, but the man himself had already vanished.
"That Pusuluo — he really is an odd one." Bei Bei blinked twice, still feeling dazed.
Lin Lei looked down at the hundred-odd spatial rings hovering above his palm. Quite a few of them belonged to mid-level gods, but there were also quite a number from high-level gods. "So many spatial rings, and among them are spatial rings belonging to Highgod demons. This is truly wealth raining from the heavens."
Joy surged in Lin Lei's heart.
"That Pusuluo actually gave us this many spatial rings." Dilia exclaimed in amazement.
"Exactly — the guy's lost his mind. But hey, a good kind of crazy," Bei Bei said with a grin.
Lin Lei shook his head. "Bei Bei, it's not quite like that. Pusuluo's experiences are nothing like ours. Eons upon eons of suppression and endurance — anyone who could bear all that is no ordinary person. Now that he's finally been freed, he simply wanted to let off steam."
Dilia nodded slightly as well.
Whether it was attacking Leormons or going on at length to Lin Lei and the others, it was all just venting.
"Oh, I see." Bei Bei nodded in sudden understanding, his eyes lighting up. "So after letting off steam, he just casually tossed us a few trinkets. That Pusuluo sure is stingy — why couldn't he give us Arequin's spatial ring? That old fogey's wealth must be absolutely staggering."
Lin Lei and Dilia were rendered speechless.
"I'm just joking," Bei Bei said with a laugh, then turned his gaze to the hundred-odd spatial rings hovering above Lin Lei's palm. "Boss, that's so many spatial rings — how many treasures do you think are inside? Let's take a look!" Bei Bei looked positively eager. "I love going through the treasures in spatial rings the most."
"What's the rush?" Lin Lei flipped his hand and stored the spatial rings away for the time being.
"Let's first figure out what we're going to do next. We can look through the spatial rings later — there's no rush." Lin Lei surveyed their surroundings. The volcanic mountain range had vanished abruptly, returning the area to the plain it had been before. In the night sky, the Purple Moon cast its dim, hazy light.
Across the earth bathed in that purple moonlight, an ancient, vast aura swept over them.
Dilia furrowed her brow slightly. "Lin Lei, this Hell is full of dangers everywhere. Just the three of us, relying on our own abilities, reaching Blue Maple City in Hongyang Prefecture — that's going to be very difficult."
Lin Lei agreed. The three of them were all mid-level gods. Although a demon's star rating couldn't be determined at a glance, others could roughly judge their strength — whether they were mid-level gods or Highgod demons! Highgod demon bandits wouldn't dare provoke.
But mid-level god demons? The bandits had nothing to fear.
"To take on tasks, we'd need to reach a city first. Every city in Hell is incredibly far apart from the others! There's no way for us to take on tasks right now," Bei Bei said helplessly.
Lin Lei scanned the surroundings, recalling the geographical information about Hell he had read. After a moment, he came to a conclusion. "We do have a bit of a problem. The nearest city is nearly eighty million li away. Eighty million li — who knows how many dangers lie along the way."
"Eighty million li?" Bei Bei and Dilia both felt their heads ache at the thought.
Lin Lei looked at Dilia, and his mind involuntarily recalled the scene of the two of them sinking into that golden magma. In that moment, he had truly believed he was going to die.
"For Dilia's sake alone, I can't take such risks again," Lin Lei said silently to himself.
Dilia and Bei Bei were both looking at Lin Lei now. Moments like these called for him to make the decisions. Lin Lei gazed into the distance and spoke. "How about this — there appears to be a large mountain range ahead. Let's settle there temporarily and cultivate in peace. Once Dilia has refined that Highgod divine spark, we'll set out!"
"Settle there?" Bei Bei looked somewhat surprised.
"What's wrong?" Lin Lei turned to Bei Bei.
Bei Bei immediately shook his head. "Nothing, Boss. What you say makes sense. Once Dilia reaches the Highgod level, at least on the surface everyone will know she's a Highgod demon. That'll be intimidating enough. When we set out again, it'll be much safer."
That was indeed Lin Lei's thinking. Although Dilia was only a one-star demon, who could tell that from appearances?
All anyone would know was that she was a Highgod demon!
Bandits and robbers were the last people who wanted to tangle with a Highgod demon. Who knew what star rating she might be? She could even be a seven-star demon!
"Hm?" Lin Lei noticed that Dilia had quietly taken his hand. He turned to look at her, and Dilia gave him a subtle glance. Only then did Lin Lei realize that something was off with Bei Bei. In an instant he understood. "Bei Bei — he's probably thinking about Nis."
"Bei Bei," Lin Lei spoke up.
"Hm?" Bei Bei looked up, gazing at Lin Lei with confusion.
Lin Lei said directly, "Bei Bei, how about this — we make haste right now. Either we head straight for a city and take on a task, or the three of us purchase a metal lifeform on our own. Either way, let's find a way to reach Blue Maple City in Hongyang Prefecture as quickly as possible."
Bei Bei understood in his heart.
Salomon and Nis intended to return to the Bifu Continent, and their first destination would be Blue Maple City in Hongyang Prefecture. By doing this, Lin Lei was giving Bei Bei a chance to catch up with Nis.
However, rushing like this meant they would inevitably encounter bandits along the way. Who knew how many dangers they would face? Though Lin Lei and Bei Bei were both strong, they could hold their own against an ordinary bandit group. But what if they ran into a gang of several thousand mid-level god demons?
It was far too dangerous!
"Boss, thank you," Bei Bei said gratefully, then shook his head and sighed. "But there's no need."
Lin Lei and Dilia exchanged a glance.
