"Lin Lei, that bald guy called Crumpton — he's here too." Dilia had also noticed the familiar figure.

Lin Lei could clearly see that Crumpton had entered this metal lifeform along with the other demons. However, those demons had all headed for the front cabin.

"Those taking the demon trial are all in the rear cabin. Those demons are all in the front cabin." Lin Lei felt a slight measure of relief, but even so, his worry lingered. "What are these demons doing, mixing in like this?"

The demons mixing in didn't actually bother Lin Lei.

What bothered him was that among this group of demons traveling alongside them, there was Crumpton.

Lin Lei admitted to himself that he hated Crumpton, and Crumpton felt exactly the same way. Given the chance, Crumpton would not hesitate to kill Lin Lei to vent his anger.

"One Crumpton — if it really came to a fight, the three of us would still have a sliver of hope."

Crumpton had only reached High-tier God by refining a godhead, making him among the weakest of High-tier Gods.

By refining a godhead, one's soul could not receive the nurturing enhancement of the laws of heaven and earth. The soul would inherently be weaker.

Although Lin Lei was only a Mid-tier God, because he had fused the profound mysteries of two Laws — Pulse of the Earth and Earth Elemental — his soul attacks were ten times stronger than those of an ordinary Mid-tier God. Lin Lei's soul attacks alone were enough to put Crumpton's life in danger.

However…

Lin Lei wasn't completely confident either. After all, the opponent was a High-tier God who had comprehended all the profound mysteries of the Elemental Laws. Even without fusing a single one, he couldn't be underestimated.

"To deal with this Crumpton, if Bei Bei and I gave it our all, there'd still be hope. But… Crumpton isn't alone — he has friends!" Lin Lei's brow furrowed. This was what worried him most. "We're no longer inside the city now. We're outside, where there's no prohibition against fighting. If Crumpton spots the three of us, he might just take his revenge!"

Thinking it over, Lin Lei still had no idea how to handle the situation!

"Damn it, with so many demons out there, how is it we ended up stuck with this bald guy!" Lin Lei couldn't help but curse inwardly.

Even though he was fuming inside, he had no choice but to face it.

"No matter what, all we can hope for now is that the bald guy doesn't spot us." Lin Lei prayed silently.

And that was entirely possible.

After all, Lin Lei and the others were in the rear cabin while Crumpton and his group were in the front cabin. If they didn't cross paths, there would be no problem.

"Lin Lei." Dilia looked at him, a trace of worry in her eyes.

"Don't worry," Lin Lei said softly.

Bei Bei looked at Lin Lei. Although Bei Bei loved to fool around, he wasn't stupid. He understood just how bad things had gotten with the bald guy mixed in. Bei Bei immediately transmitted via soul: "Boss, if we really run into trouble, I'll take on the bald guy! I'm not confident I can beat him, but keeping him tied up long enough to stay alive — I'm sure I can manage that."

Lin Lei looked at Bei Bei with some surprise.

Bei Bei had only entered the Mid-tier God realm a few decades ago, yet he was confident enough to go tangle with a High-tier God? Even one who had refined a godhead?

"Really?" A hint of amusement appeared in Lin Lei's eyes.

"Hmph!" Bei Bei tossed his head proudly and transmitted via soul. "Boss, I'm the second God-Eater Mouse across countless planes! Don't underestimate me!" Since Bei Bei could digest godheads with ease, he naturally had some extraordinary abilities.

The metal lifeform set off!

"Whoosh!"

Splitting through the sky, a massive purple-black silhouette vanished instantly from the skies above the City of Demon Wings, reduced to a faint black dot on the distant horizon before disappearing entirely in the blink of an eye.

The large group of people inside the metal lifeform were all gazing out through the transparent windows.

"What's going on? We still don't even know what the trial mission is," Bei Bei muttered.

"No rush," Lin Lei said with a faint smile.

A woman with short silver hair, sitting on Lin Lei's other side, spoke up. "The demon trial missions always have fixed locations, and they're bound to be very far from the City of Demon Wings. I'd expect we'll be traveling for quite a while. The people at the Demon Castle naturally aren't in any hurry to tell us the details."

Lin Lei nodded inwardly.

"I'm Lin Lei." Lin Lei greeted the silver-haired woman with a smile.

The woman was dressed entirely in silver as well, looking neat and efficient. She glanced over with a hint of a smile at the corner of her lips. "My name is Regina. Mr. Lin Lei, these two beside you are your companions, right?"

Regina also knew that in the demon trial, teaming up with others significantly increased the chances of success. If she encountered danger during the trial, even a little help from others could change her fate.

She wanted to build a good rapport with Lin Lei's trio right now.

"That's right," Lin Lei nodded with a smile. Beside him, Bei Bei's eyes lit up as he leaned over. "Miss Regina, your eyes are so captivating! Ah, I forgot to introduce myself — you can call me Bei Bei."

Regina took one look at Bei Bei, and his mischievous eyes immediately caught her attention. "Bei Bei, your eyes are even more captivating." Bei Bei's smile instantly grew even brighter.

"Miss Regina, do you happen to know why those demons are traveling with us?" Lin Lei voiced the doubt that had been gnawing at him. "This is a demon trial mission, yet those who are already demons are coming along too…"

Regina shook her head. "I'm not too sure about that."

"Oh." Lin Lei could only bury his doubts deep inside.
