Chapter 33: Fury Unleashed

"Godhoods can be digested?" The two middle-tier gods — the bald brawny man and the white-robed middle-aged man — descended from the sky. The bald brawny man, Burgess, goggled his bull-like eyes at Bei Bei. "That godhood is practically indestructible — ten thousand times harder than a divine artifact!"

In the Gebados Plane Prison, the strong fought each other regardless of rank. No matter what level the battle reached, a godhood could never be damaged. In terms of sheer hardness, probably not even Lin Lei's Purple Blood Soft Sword could match a godhood.

"In theory, a godhood is indestructible," the white-robed middle-aged man nodded in agreement.

"Godhoods are really tough. Even though my teeth are pretty sharp, I can't grind one up." Bei Bei helplessly rubbed his nose.

"You were actually trying to grind it up?" Even Lin Lei, hearing this, wanted to scold Bei Bei a couple of times. But seeing the glint of cunning in Bei Bei's eyes, Lin Lei didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "This little guy is getting slicker by the day — I wonder who he learned it from."

Bei Bei let out an exaggerated sigh. "Can't grind it down, so I can only swallow it whole and let it slowly digest in my belly."

"Digest it." Burgess and the white-robed man still found it nearly impossible to believe.

"Why not? I'm a divine beast, after all." Bei Bei deliberately raised his head proudly. "I'm the second God-Eating Mouse across countless planes. Beasts like the Sky-Devouring Beast and the Giant Serpent exist in plenty across other planes, but none of them are as rare and precious as the God-Eating Mouse."

Lin Lei chuckled inwardly. "Bei Bei probably heard from Lord Beirute that the Sky-Devouring Beast and the Giant Serpent exist in other planes."

The Nisos — the Sky-Devouring Beast — and the Giant Serpent: these two divine beasts existed in at most one copy each within the Yulan Continent plane. But material planes were simply too many. Since Di Lin and Tarosha had never been to other planes, they knew nothing about how many divine beasts other planes harbored.

"Lin Lei, Bei Bei, come with us. Third Brother is waiting for you there," the white-robed middle-aged man said with a smile.

"Lord Lei Lin?"

Since it was the mysterious Lord Lei Lin who had invited them, Lin Lei and Bei Bei had no intention of refusing. They immediately followed Burgess and the white-robed man, flying toward that earth-element mansion.

Meanwhile, back in the valley where Lin Lei had been training:

A stone in the corner of the valley suddenly dissipated, transforming into Lei Lin clad in a dark crimson robe. Lei Lin gazed eastward, his gaze seemingly piercing through the void, a faint smile on his lips. "Hmph, that high-tier god hasn't gone mad yet — he hasn't come for revenge immediately."

"But Lin Lei's rate of growth still exceeds my expectations," Lei Lin murmured admiringly. "That purple long sword of his must be a high-tier divine artifact. The killing intent it carries is formidable — I can only wonder how many powerful beings have been cut down by that sword."

"Still, I can't let my guard down."

Lei Lin's brow furrowed deeply. "If that high-tier god launches a surprise attack at any moment… Lin Lei is far too weak compared to him. By the time I try to intervene, it could be too late. I need to make preparations early!"

When Alas had come to Copper Gong Mountain, Lei Lin had detected him easily. But if it were Sadista — particularly if Sadista deliberately suppressed his aura — and if Lei Lin didn't actively extend his divine sense or use his abilities to scout, he wouldn't be able to discover Sadista quickly.

"Looks like I need to stay cautious for a while longer." Lei Lin smiled faintly, then the surrounding earth elements trembled slightly, and he vanished without a trace.

The mansion, composed entirely of condensed earth elements, sat on the mountainside. While Lin Lei and the others were still in flight, Lei Lin had already returned to it.

By the time Lin Lei and the group landed in the mansion's courtyard, they spotted Lei Lin sitting leisurely, sipping fine wine.

"Third Brother, I've brought Lin Lei and Bei Bei. What business do you have with them?" the bald brawny man Burgess said boisterously.

Lei Lin set down his wine cup and smiled at Lin Lei and Bei Bei. "Have a seat first."

Lin Lei felt somewhat puzzled in his heart. "What does Lei Lin want with us?"

"For the time being, the two of you will live in this mansion. Lin Lei, if you want to train, you can do so in this courtyard," Lei Lin announced his requirements plainly.

Lin Lei and Bei Bei exchanged a look of surprise.

"Lord Lei Lin, live here? In your residence?" Lin Lei hesitated.

Lei Lin laughed. "What's the matter? Is my place not good enough? Or are you worried about damaging my home? Don't worry — the walls here aren't as fragile as you think. Even if something does get damaged occasionally, I can repair it with ease."

"That's not what I mean," Lin Lei said quickly. "Since Lord Lei Lin requests it, then Bei Bei and I will impose on your hospitality."

Both Lin Lei and Bei Bei held genuine respect for the owner of Copper Gong Mountain, Lei Lin. For one, his strength was formidable. For another, he had truly been kind to them. After all, according to what Sadi had said, Lei Lin would not guide the same person twice within ten years.

"Lin Lei, I watched your fight against that middle-tier god very carefully. The fact that you were able to apply 'Earth Pulse' to a soul attack in such a short time is truly impressive," Lei Lin praised.

"Actually, I haven't fully mastered this technique yet," Lin Lei reflected, feeling rather lucky. "In that dangerous moment, I couldn't think too much, so I used both the Purple Blood Soft Sword and the Black Heavy Metal Sword simultaneously. Fortunately, the Black Heavy Metal Sword's strike succeeded in the end — otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to kill that middle-tier god."

Lei Lin nodded, then said solemnly, "Lin Lei, there's something I must caution you about."

"Please speak, Lord Lei Lin." Lin Lei immediately focused his attention.

Lei Lin nodded. "Lin Lei, to be frank, the soul attack you performed with that Purple Blood Soft Sword was far too weak. All you did was channel your Soul Power through that divine artifact and send it at your opponent's soul. The only noteworthy element was the integration of the Sonic Profound Truth into it."

"I advise you — in critical moments, when facing truly powerful opponents, don't use that attack. In terms of soul attacks, its power is nowhere near your 'Earth Pulse' strike. The gap is enormous."

"The power was very low indeed." Lin Lei knew this himself perfectly well.

The Whisper of Wind was technically a soul attack, but it didn't employ any particularly profound truths. All he did was pour his Mental Power into the Purple Blood Soft Sword and release it through the blade.

That was all.
