On the Yulan Continent, in the Loa Empire, within the courtyard of Bulong's manor.
"Lord Bomengte!" Bulong bowed respectfully.
Bomengte was tall in stature, his entire body shrouded in a black robe. Behind him stood four Saint Realm powerhouses, each displaying utmost reverence. Beneath the black robe, Bomengte's eerie eyes fixed upon Bulong. "Bulong — everything you conveyed to me through soul transmission, is it all true?"
"Absolutely true. If I, Bulong, speak even a single lie, Lord Bomengte may kill me." Bulong's manner was utterly deferential.
Bomengte said nothing.
Bulong dared not utter another word. Bomengte was an exceedingly violent man. The Gebada Dimensional Prison was, in truth, merely a special plane of existence, and its expanse was naturally vast, divided into many territories with countless god-level powerhouses scattered throughout.
Among them, Bomengte, Muba, the Grand Sorcerer, and Diling all resided in the same region of the prison, and within that region…
Muba was a good-natured fellow, the Grand Sorcerer was cold and sinister, while Bomengte was cruel and tyrannical. Of course, Diling was the strongest among the four Low Gods. Even Bomengte dared not provoke Diling. However, one day Diling suddenly vanished. After his disappearance, Bomengte became the most domineering figure in that region.
Eventually, one or two powerhouses there gradually discovered the "spatial weakness" through which Diling had originally departed. Soon after, Bomengte, Muba, the Grand Sorcerer, and several Saint Realm powerhouses all made their way through. Naturally, they did not inform the others.
And so…
Those who had arrived on the Yulan Continent were in fact only a handful of powerhouses from the Gebada Dimensional Prison who had been near that spatial weakness. Their entrance was unknown to the countless powerhouses still trapped within the prison, and the spatial weakness itself could not be detected unless one was at that exact location.
This was why Bulong had only come to the Yulan Continent four years ago.
Even within that very region, there remained many Saint Realm powerhouses who were still unaware, still suffering in the Dimensional Prison — let alone powerhouses from other regions.
At present, the number of god-level powerhouses from other planes on the Yulan Continent was not large; only the Saint Realm powerhouses were somewhat more numerous. And every one of those Saint Realm powerhouses knew full well how violent and terrifying Bomengte was.
"Bulong, I have a task for you," Bomengte said coldly.
Bulon prostrated himself.
"Go to Dragon Blood Castle at once and invite Lin Lei and the other god-level powerhouse. Tell them that I, Bomengte, will be waiting for them tomorrow morning at… the Bosha Dam along the Yulan River." Bomengte's tone was indifferent. "Go now. Do not delay."
Bulong started. Lin Lei had previously instructed Bomengte to come to Dragon Blood Castle himself. Now Bomengte was arranging to meet at this Bosha Dam instead.
"Yes, Lord Bomengte." Bulong dared not disobey. He transformed into a phantom and flew northward.
Bomengte glanced back.
"Qijita, you may return to refining souls," he said casually.
"Yes, Lord Bomengte." Among the four Saint Realm powerhouses behind him, the tallest — a man shrouded entirely in a white robe — spoke.
Qijita was none other than Qijita, the last to flee from the Sacred Island!
The moment Qijita recalled the days after his escape, he felt nothing but misery. He, Qijita, was a member of the Three-Eyed Winged Clan from the Divine Light Plane. The Three-Eyed Winged Clan was considered a treasure among countless god-level powerhouses.
Why?
The Three-Eyed Winged Clan possessed a unique ability: their third eye could naturally refine soul essence.
In the eyes of many god-level powerhouses, the Three-Eyed Winged Clan was much like silkworms. Capture a clan member, bind them, and command them to refine soul essence for one's own consumption. Keeping Three-Eyed Winged Clan members in captivity was extremely common.
Qijita was a member of the Three-Eyed Winged Clan.
Back in the Gebada Dimensional Prison, he had been seized by a god-level powerhouse and suffered terribly. After that powerhouse eventually died, he managed to escape by sheer luck… Normally he kept his third eye hidden, pretending to be a winged being among the Beastmen, and had lived in constant fear until he finally, fortunately, made it to the Yulan Continent plane.
On the Yulan Continent, his strength went without saying — he was at the absolute peak of the Saint Realm.
Within the Sacred Island of the Church of Light, he had consumed large quantities of soul essence. When he saw that even the god's plane-reflecting avatar had been destroyed, he immediately abandoned Haitingsi and fled alone. His carefree days on the Yulan Continent lasted only a few years before Bomengte discovered him.
Bomengte was naturally overjoyed.
He had been tormented ever since the Grand Sorcerer's death, with no one left to refine soul golden pills for him.
"You will refine them for me. Hmph — I know exactly how much soul essence should be produced from a given number of souls, so don't you dare skim any for yourself. Work hard, and I shall grant you one-tenth of the soul essence produced." Bomengte was, in his own way, generous.
What could Qijita do?
Under Bomengte's tyranny, he could only comply and assist with the soul refinement.
This was precisely why Bomengte had suddenly begun his slaughter on such a massive scale. Without Qijita, he truly had no way to obtain soul essence.
Night fell, and Dragon Blood Castle was brilliantly lit.
"The Yulan River — Bosha Dam?" Lin Lei glanced at the deeply deferential Bulong. "Very well, we've heard. You may return."
"Yes." Bulong bowed and immediately flew away from Dragon Blood Castle.
Inside the great hall of Dragon Blood Castle, Lin Lei, Deslie, and Olivia were all present, along with Lin Lei's own family and sworn brothers.
"Bosha Dam — this Bomengte sure knows how to pick a location," Deslie scoffed.
"It seems Bomengte has some knowledge of our Yulan Continent's history as well," Lin Lei remarked with appreciation. "He actually knows of the Bosha Dam. The fact that he chose it suggests he may be willing to seek reconciliation with us." Beside him, Olivia also nodded slightly.
