Lin Lei ran directly back to his residence and closed his door from the inside.

Quickly kicking off his shoes, Lin Lei jumped onto the bed and sat down casually. "Grandpa Derinkoort, come on out! Help me test my magical talent." He was feeling quite impatient; during lunch his mind had been preoccupied with this matter.

A shimmering stream of light shot out from the Coiling Dragon Ring, landing beside the bed and taking the form of Derinkoort.

Derinkoort said with a smile, "Don't be anxious, Lin Lei. First I should tell you... Since I don't have any specialized testing tools, I can only test whether you have the talent to become an 'Earth System mage.' As for the other systems, without the proper tools, there's no way for me to test them."

"You can only test my talent for Earth System magic?" Lin Lei felt a little disappointed.

He had heard that testing talent required specialized equipment. He'd thought that since Grandpa Derinkoort was a Holy Domain Grand Mage, he might have some special methods.

"What's wrong with the Earth System? Lin Lei, let me tell you, the Earth System is the most powerful among all systems: Earth, Fire, Water, Wind, Lightning, Light, Darkness, and so on." Derinkoort's face was filled with obvious pride, clearly full of confidence in the Earth System. After all, he himself was an Earth System Holy Domain Grand Mage.

Lin Lei wasn't quite convinced.

All the systems should be balanced—how could the Earth System be the strongest?

"Grandpa Derinkoort, didn't I hear that Fire System mages have the strongest attacks? I heard Darkness System attacks are extremely strange and unpredictable. How can the Earth System be the strongest?" Lin Lei said with a frown.

Derinkoort, usually so amiable, now looked somewhat annoyed: "Lin Lei, let me tell you—among all types of magic, when comparing pure offensive power, each has its own strengths!"

"For example, the Fire System: the Forbidden Magic 'Heavenfire Prairie, Earthfire Burns City.' Once unleashed, an enormous city will be completely burned to ashes. For example, the Water System: the Forbidden Magic 'Absolute Zero' can instantly freeze hundreds of thousands of people to death. For example, the Lightning System: the Forbidden Magic 'Heavenlightning Destroys World' brings down millions of bolts of lightning—could anyone survive that? For example, the Wind System: the Forbidden Magic 'Destruction Storm' fills the sky and earth with storms as sharp as blades. The result would be..."

Derinkoort sighed deeply.

Lin Lei's heart trembled.

He had thought Fire System magic had the strongest attacks, but now that seemed ridiculous. No matter which system you reached the Forbidden Magic level with, they all possessed world-destroying power.

"And the Earth System?" Lin Lei hadn't forgotten about it.

Derinkoort said confidently: "How could the Earth System be lacking? Its Forbidden Magic, 'Meteor Descent,' sends countless massive meteorites crashing down from the sky, reducing a city to ruins in the blink of an eye. There's also 'Sky Cracks Earth Splits'—once unleashed, the earth will churn like ocean waves, buildings will collapse, the ground will crack with countless fissures, and magma will erupt from below, causing countless casualties."

Lin Lei held his breath as he listened.

"The Earth System also possesses the large-scale Forbidden defensive magic 'Pulse Guard.' Once activated, it provides flawless protection above, below, and in all directions around a city. Even if an opponent uses 'Heavenlightning Destroys World,' it can withstand it."

Derinkoort spoke with great satisfaction, then chuckled: "Of course... what I've been describing are area-of-effect destructive attacks, not single-target magic."

Lin Lei nodded.

He understood that Grandpa Derinkoort was talking about large-scale destructive magic.
